😄 Reintje had the works done, like a lady at the spa: hair shampooed, braided and even a bun! Legs shaved. Hooves receive the equivalent of nail polish; and spiffy tack, too, like wearing your best dress!!! Wow! 😍

@@battles146 It can really depend on the horse! One of my old horses absolutely loved showing--she'd get excited as soon as she saw the shipping wraps come out and she'd practically leap into the trailer. At the show she'd be "on," just like any athlete on game day. But I've also known other horses who'd stay home because they found travel far too stressful, and some horses who needed a very particular routine while away in order to keep them happy and relaxed.

I started learning dressage after years of stadium jumping. Both my horse and I got board with it and we challenged by dressage. It was like two kindergartners learning their part of the dance. I had a beautiful Steuben black saddle that fit my gelding 4 year old solid Chestnut namedSunny because he was as bright as the rising sun. We were trained for 5 years and loved every minute. I had to quite because I was running out time to get pregnant. You went on to a great career with our teacher and founded her school. You could do it all Sunny and I miss you still.
