That being said I jumped on this and previous Jones products and have NO REGRET! They do exactly what she promises: effortless, natural beauty ! I have wrinkles and I’ve tried this on several mature skin clients : looks beautiful! Note: she does mention that oily skin might need a touch of setting powder 👌 So like you said, if you love a fresh , I look good skin, this is IT♥️

I'm older, but not a "dry" lady. That said, Jones Road products have completely changed my mind, especially What The Foundation. I'm very pale, I have shade 1 and it's perfect for me. I think maybe in my 20s all these balms and creams would be sliding off my face, but this stuff is the BEST for me.

I'm 54. I have dry skin. some fine lines and wrinkles. I purchased the light color. I absolutely love this foundation. its so easy to apply and wear. I love a more natural look so this is perfect! I pair it with the Flushed miracle balm, a soft neutral eyeshadow and mascara.

I’m 39 with rosacea and insanely dry skin, and I LOVE the WT Foundation. I’m not as crazy about the miracle balm (I’m still figuring it out I think) but that foundation makes my skin glow.

I LOVE this foundation! I’m 52, with tiny whiskery fine lines and some visible pores. All standard foundations make those things immediately pop out. It’s so annoying. But with WTF, I use all my skincare, including SPF, then wait 10 mins, apply Tacha silk canvas, then WTF, and I’m telling you, my skin looks the better than it’s ever been!! Yea, very natural, but none of the fine liens or pores jump out, and in fact, they’re more blurred. Great video, btw!! :)

I love this foundation too! I'm also what I'd consider light/medium and I got the porcelain - perfect match for me. I have really dry skin - I've continued doing my normal skincare routine that includes serums and 2 moisturisers (yes 2) then I use the new tatcha sunscreen (love this too) after about 3 - 5 minutes I apply this as my base. I love it! Love it! It is so moisturizing. I also use cream bronzer and blush. This is a dry skin girls best friend. Oh and I should also mention I'm 40 just to cover all the bases. 🥰

Oh, I love how comprehensive your reviews are!! Could you do a comparison to other jar foundations/balms? There's the Iris&Romeo foundation that I've been thinking of getting, the Chantecaille Future Skin Gel, the new Wayne Goss, there's also a new L'oreal Tinted Balm that looks promising. I'm feeling overwhelmed because some are very pricey.

Something else to consider is cream foundation which in my experience gives a more even skin tone and blurs out imperfections better. The balms you mentioned I’ve tried and they’re just to wet and dewy for my liking. Cover Girl has a beautiful cream foundation as part of their Outlast line. It comes in a square compact with a sponge to apply which works the best over a brush or using your fingers. Hope this helps!💖

The thing about a sheer product being "stretchable" across a number of skin tones is that under tones are still a thing and we've seen time and time again that a lot of customers dont want something that "stretches" that they can make work. No matter how stretchable something is its still going to leave people out, full 40 something shade ranges still leave people out. I appreciate brands who make a sheer tint/tinted moisturizer who still do 20+ shades because they are listening to customers and know that people still want something that starts out close to or that is their exact shade match regardless of whether not they can "make something work" that isnt their exact match. I'll stick with those brands.

The Armani primer is water based, so that's likely the cause of the oil-based foundation not looking good or performing well with the WTF. I've been down a rabbit hole on this foundation. I have a whole cart of jones road just sitting there. Review after review I get more and more obsessed with wanting to try it. LOL! Thank you for your review.

The shape tape is also water based, and when using a water-dampened blender will also not work with anything oil-based. Probably the cause.

I love the Jones Road WT foundation! I use a serum underneath it. No need for a moisturizer… A little bit goes along way on my mature dry skin. Many hours. I look forward to trying other Jones Road products.

I think that the face pencils are by FAR the best Jones Road product and suggest that it might be worth giving those a try. (The eyebrow pencils are also terrific for those of us who have sparse eyebrows but I doubt that you would appreciate them since your eyebrows are pretty thick.) I do think the Jones Road pencils work very well with the WTF foundation but agree that a traditional concealer like Shape Tape would be a mistake. I personally found the WTF foundation to be very light coverage unless I built it up. It also made my face feel a bit itchy (I think due to the essential oils in it), but probably most people would not be bothered by it. I was worried that the product would be too neutral for me (since they do not offer warm/cool versions), but it was such light coverage that I don't think it mattered at all. In general, I think that the best natural audience for all Jones Road products is people with dry skin, especially older women. Which makes sense since BB created the products for herself and then decided to launch the company when all of her friends really liked them. The face pencils have potential for everyone, though. :)

The Jones Road face stick works really well with this for color-correcting/concealing. This Jones Roads product's scent reminds me of something from Aveda. It worked with my combo oily skin; maybe because it supplies enough moisture, my face doesn't need to make a pool on my T-zone??

Nice review. Have you given it half an hour before setting? I feel like it is no longer tacky after 10-30 minutes, feels like cream cosmetics to touch then but totally weightless on my skin. I love, love, love wtf and the miracle balms. The first day my husband said my skin looked so good!

This sounds to me very similar to the Bobbi Brown Extra Tinted Moisturising Balm that is no longer available. I used to use it and loved the formula and it looked great on more mature skin.

So pleased to come across somebody else who loved the Extra as much as I did - I completely agree, I was thinking just that during Shelbey’s excellent review - I actually wrote to Jones Road to say how disappointed I was the Estee Lauder had discontinued the very wonderful Extra Tinted Moisturizing Balm and asking Jones Road to consider do something like it - I wrote three times! They acknowledged three times and thanked me for the feedback - oh, I do hope that this is similar to that lovely balm - the biggest difference will be that the Jones Road WTF doesn’t appear to have SPF whereas the Bobbi Brown Extra Tinted had a SPF 25.

I have light/meduim skin and bought Beige knowing summer is coming. I've tried it one time and felt it way too sticky/greasy. Like my hair will stick to it. I am going to give it a couple more tries using with finishing powder but that's the only way I could do it.

PSA : I have been researching this product thru many reviews, debating on whether I should try it... and it seems that everyone either LOVES it or HATES it; BUT - I think I have figured out why, though. Unless you have VERY DRY SKIN, or dry patches - THOSE AREAS ONLY are where you should "pre-moisturize" your skin prior to using this product. If you have dry-to-oily type skin (where your skin is dry initially then becomes an oil patch over time), you might wanna experiment with pre-moisturizing and the heaviness/intensity of that moisturizer. But otherwise - you SHOULD NOT PRE-MOISTURIZE while using this product. It literally IS the moisturizer AND the foundation all in one. So as someone who has a bit of excess oils, and hasn't managed to quit coffee yet (since caffeine seems to amplify oil production), I've concluded this isn't usable for me, yet.

I’m sad about the shade range, I have zero beige/tan to my skin I’m fairest of the fair with cool pink undertones. It’s very often that brands don’t start light enough unfortunately, Lancôme, Chanel, Bareminerals, Armani etc, they all don’t have actual fair skin shades.

I can’t decide which color (Porcelain, Light or Fair) to order since the first one I tend to associate with red heads in the land of Ireland. I saw a tiktok that responded to the primer issue you mentioned... silicone based primers are a no go with this foundation. A water based one is the way to go, like hangover Rx or just your favourite moisturizer.

Which one is your favorite? I love the serum foundation and foundation sticks. Years ago the Skin Foundation was dewy on me, but now it’s on the drier side (not in a bad way) and the serum is perfect - doesn’t emphasize dry skin patches I have and doesn’t make me oily, and most importantly it doesn’t feel heavy and weigh my face down to the point of drooping more. 15 years ago I would have said I’d never wear a foundation like the serum but I have to say it’s my holy grail and nobody talks about it - maybe because it’s expensive, but that’s why I wait for sales - but people talk about $90+ foundations.

I’ve been using the foundation for about a week. I probably should have gotten the porcelain instead of the fair. Light is a bit too dark. Overall, I would say it’s just ok. My issue with it is the little bits of hard particles in it. Not sure what’s going on but the particles make the foundation pill up. I do like the dewey texture but at times I need to use some powder so it’s not SO shiny. I like the miracle balm ok but I probably won’t repurchase either product. I think I’ll stick with the foundation of the original Bobbi Brown line.

I just used this for the first time today I have the color fair or Claire, it’s very sticky and I needed a lot of powder to set it, and it felt heavy and sticky after initial application, now that my makeup is done it’s pretty and we will see how well it wears.

You should check out Sneaky Balm by Salt New York. I typically wear full coverage and it is the only complexion product that isn’t full coverage that I actually love. Check out the video of the MUA who formulated it…Kiki G on her KZbin channel. Very intriguing what she says about how foundation ranges are not what they should be and why she chose the shades she did.

I disagree about the lightest shade..I'm very fair skinned and the porcelain works..almost too light for me in summer. But my biggest issue is how heavy this stuff feels...and the scent. Fortunately the scent seems to wear away..but man this is heavy. When I remove it, my skin feels very moisturized though. I love a dewy look because I have very dry skin but this one is actually too heavy and doesn't set down at all. I think the best use of this product is on the high points of the face only.

your review is awesome!! in my thoughts, this product is very similar to RMS's unfoundation and uncover concealer. it also reminds me of bobbie brown's original tinted balm with spf which was a cult favorite (until they discontinued it) If you have tried the RMS products are you able to provide a comparison? if you haven't tried the RMS version would you consider doing a comparison review? I was a huge Bobby Brown fan all through highschool in the 90's, but something about the vibe of Jones Road didn't hit for me so I held off on puchasing. Yes, I was a huge fan of the Extra Tinted Balm Spf 25, and was devastated when it was discontinued. I purchased the WTF in Light, and it’s a great match for my mature dry skin. It’s very similar to the BB Extra Balm, but a bit gooey in texture. My skin can be very reactive, and I’ve had no issue with it. I typically use it over my sunscreen and it is a bit greasy, but I just blot it a bit and that helps, or a bit of powder. No issues with pilling or streaking. I agree that it works best on its own, I don’t even need a moisturizer underneath.

Question....for Shelbey or anyone out there who has used this product. What type of sunscreen can you wear underneath that won't interfere with the product? I usually wear Anthelios, but that is creamy and has a bit of a sheen. I also have the MDSkinSciences physical block....any suggestions?..Thanks much

In all fairness, I’m really pale and yet I don’t want foundation that is an exact match. I want some thing that is close, but brightens my complexion and I feel like that porcelain could do just that.
