Have you tried applying it with your fingertips? I’ve not had the lifting problem - but I don’t use a brush. Also - using a damp beauty blender may mess with it too. It’s oil-based and the blender is damp with water. Give it a whirl! It lasted me a whole day in the sun (85F!) without issue. I LOVE this foundation, it’s honestly a holy grail for me. Dry to normal skin, I’m 36, have some mild redness and am fairly fair skinned. It dries down for me after a while. I just give my skin care 10 minutes or so to sink in before using it. Then I apply with fingertips, gently sort of swiping it in and then I pat it gently, still with my fingertips. It took a few attempts to figure it out!

I am 50 with normal to dry skin and I recently purchased this in shade medium (perfect match for me). I think it works best with a light application and no powder, but prefer to use on days when I’m home as I live in a humid climate. I love the way it makes my skin look but it’s definitely not for everyone. Also very messy. May be better in a pump. Thank you for sharing!

Thank you for your review Tara! Honestly, this is the reason why I will never get into the clean beauty phase. I have oily skin and I work long hours and I just need my foundation to last. Also, since these products generally don't have preservatives they tend to go bad much faster than a regular makeup products.

I’m 57, normal/combo skin - oily T-zone and I LOVE WTFoundation! I’ve never had to stir mine, but it came during winter, so that might be why. I do powder my forehead and nose, and while it never dries down completely, the trade-off is that I never end up with flaky spots like I sometimes get with powder foundations and don’t even get me started on matte or medium-to-full coverage anything! This is my holy grail, because it’s my skin, but evened out. I also love the face sticks and the best eyeshadows. Lastly, the mascara is my go-to.

Love the thoroughness of your reviews. I bought this in Porcelain. I'm mid-40s, dry-ish on the outer face and normal/combo through the middle. I don't like a lot of coverage, but find this gives me 0. A little glow and I love the smell (save as BB Vitamin Face Base), but really zero coverage. I'm super fair and I've heard people say the Porcelain runs dark, but I think there is so little coverage, it's pretty flexible. I still like it for the way it feels on my skin and since I'm not after coverage, the pigment performance (or lack thereof), doesn't deter me. Would not call this a foundation, though. I think they just wanted to be provocative with the 'WTF' and so they had to call it Foundation, even though it is more like a tinted moisturizer

I am 57 with dry sensitive skin (with basically no blemishes or age spots, just wrinkles). I need to wear a primer under the WTF (I like the Vapour one) because otherwise my face itches from it (I think due to the essential oils in it). I think this looks super-pretty on my skin and am inclined to wear it for that reason, but I see it much more as a good foundation for the winter months when I am not sweating and need extra moisture. If I sweat at all, it's just gone, on the other hand. It doesn't provide any appreciable amount of coverage at all (I use the JR sticks under my eyes), but the finish of my skin is gorgeous with this foundation on and so it is appealing for that reason. Hi Tara, I have combo/dry skin and received WTF in shade Beige. My skin absolutely loves this tinted balm, I’m not into foundation so I was really happy to try WTF. I do give it a quick mix with the JR spatula, but I mean quick!! It applies so easily and I think that’s what I love most about it, plus my skin loves the hydration and it doesn’t go into fine lines. Maybe a pump dispenser would work better 🤔 but overall I’m really enjoying it. 💖

(I have dry skin) I think I could get the same result just mixing some moisturizer in with my No.7 liquid drops - even Neutrogena Healthy Skin is a better choice for me - barely any coverage but just evens out my skin and gives it a glow. I have tried and bought the foundations over the past year that you reccomended. I LOVE Valentino foundation and now I am in awe of KVD balm foundation! Nothing can beat these 2 foundations! I LOVE the Valentino foundation for the application and formulation but have struggled to get an ideal shade match. Have ultimately purchased 4 different shades and none and have spot on. I do think it will serve a purpose for those with dry skin like you said. Honestly - I wouldn’t buy it if you already have products you like for these type of days. Yes it works for the ‘no makeup’ days but is it the best product I’ve ever used - no. In hindsight after try for exact same reason I regret the purchase since I have so many other ones. If it was the only product I had, I’d probably like it well enough. Foundation Sticks are the bomb - but need something moisturising or slick underneath to move over the skin so they don’t tug, particularly under the eyes.

I got the foundation today and wearing it for the first time. It's wayyyy to greasy based upon the first application (i have combo skin). I did powdered my entire face but even 5 hours in, it still feels heavy. It looks great on my skin though, doesn't emphasize any lines at all because of how moisturizing it is...but as a foundation, it is too moisturizing thus feels heavy on the skin. I'm going to try to apply less next time and see if it feels better. So far, I prefer the Iris&Romeo Best Skin Days foundation, which is also clean and in a similar packaging but dries all the way down to feeling like nothing but still keeps your face moisturized.

The first ingredient in the Tom Ford is water. Water and oil don't mix. So, silicone and water primers probably won't work. Thanks for reviewing clean beauty. Your skin is your biggest organ. I can deal with the quirks. Of course, I'm a senior. This foundation is not for everyone, as you said in your review.

Love your reviews and I’m super close in skin tone!😍 I may be crazy but I love this product but I’m 54 and I use it last in my routine I use skincare, then Charlotte tilburys beautiful skin tint, concealer etc, then I dot this on top and blend in. My shin soaks it up! I look dewy my skin looks plump and amazing I also dust/ top with Charlotte tilbury flawless finish powder! I love full coverage and this works for me! ❤️

i bought it and tried really hard to make it work. i have very dry skin and i looked like a greasy mess. it's not enough coverage, and greasy. it emphasizes everything. i asked to return it and they gave me my $$ back without asking for the shipment back. i really wanted to love it. i am curious if anyone likes it

Tara, thanks for doing this review - I bought this foundation and have been struggling with it in similar ways. Your tip on mixing it up before applying is a godsend, that’s definitely helped but you are right, it doesn’t last, no matter what I do (tried all the same things as you, powder, TF primer, etc). It’s become my “working from home” foundation where I know I won’t be doing a lot, don’t need a lot of coverage or will be out in the elements. This way I keep my more expensive medium coverage foundations like TF S&I for when I’m out and about. I’m in Australia so we are heading into winter so I also agree I think it will also work better for me over the next few months too.

This foundation is troublesome. Because you have to insert something to mix it up. You need to make sure whatever you use is clean and disinfected because I'm assuming this foundation doesn't have preservatives so not only is it going to go bad a lot sooner, but you might be introducing bacteria into it as well. Although some people have claimed to like it, I believe most people purchased this just to test it out and will never reach for it again. It's too messy and problematic.

Umph, have you read the ingredient list? More than half of them are either oils or waxes!!! Even though I have dry skin this isn't for me. I don't want a foundation that, quite literally, sits on top of my skin - No thank you!! Stirring it before every use is bit irritating, yuk. I just want to use it straight away, I wonder why she (Bobbi Brown) didn't have this presented in a squeezy tube? At least it could have been shook vigorously rather than "stirring" it.
