It certainly had potential. I thought the shot choice was great. She needs a slower transition from short focus to long focus. Most would do it with manual focus but these modern cameras have settings to slow the transition. Usually in the video menu. Focus speed. Slow.

Hi Lucy & George, this is my first comment :) Happy New Year! Loving the channel and congrats to you both. For my two pen'orth I think I may be in the keep L322 camp. Can see your logic and you've obv worked it though in detail but I reckon it'll be more of a heart pull once the baby comes, and you clearly have an emotional attachment. I have a BMW Touring and love it but the Range Rover is another level. Sorry !

Congrats on the exciting news. George had some fun filming the b-roll. Fantastic work. The logic makes sense, especially if it’s going to cost money to get out of the lease. The BMW should suffice in the short term and once that noose is no longer round your neck, you can go shopping, a Defender could be a really interesting option. If nothing else, it’s perhaps a cautionary tale about the lesser talked about pitfalls of long term leases.

You're probably not going to read this comment, but I'll type it anyway. A long time ago, when I was a young guy in my 20s, I owned a 911. I sold it when I 'grew up' and got married, followed by kids. 20 yrs later when I'm talking to my kids about cars I mentioned how my 911 had to go as it wasn't 'appropriate'. They said they would have cut off their own legs to fit in the back of it rather than enjoy the espace? Who knew?

Love how every story of brits are just never ending poverty filled fellas trying to look rich but miserably failed confronted by reality. 1 in 3 children in the UK are living in extreme poverty. 1 in 5 adults in the UK are living in extreme poverty. 1 in 7 adults in the UK have food insecurity. Out of the 10 poorest states/provinces/regions in Norther and western Europe. 9 of them are in the UK, 5 of the most poorest region all in the UK. Millennials and gen z are poorer than their parents and grandparents. In every country, the younger generation have a better outlook on the future. Forget a Defender try a Discovery 5 far more versatile and practical especially with kids. The flap comes down at the back and ideal to change nappies on. We have had LR products for 24 years and tried all but keep going back to a Discovery. Have had Discovery 3, 4 and 5s

Of course the car seats fit in the BMW. We had a 2016 VW Beetle Convertible with 2 kids, newborn and 4yr old (our other car was a new Audi Q3 at the time). So yes your BMW is plenty big enough.

It’s actually not…my 3 year old just about fits behind the passenger seat so there’s no way a massive newborn isofix car seat would fit behind the driver if my partner is driving (he’s 6ft 3!) and they sort of have bucket style seats so it’s not at all enough space

Love your videos (from the U.S.), and congratulations! In the U.S., it’s quite common to go to the dealer before a lease expiration and terminate without a penalty if you lease another. So, a BMW X5 would seem an excellent and prompt replacement for both your leased sedan and the RR. We have a ‘24 50e (along with a Panamera 4S e-hybrid), and it’s been a fabulous car. Look forward to watching in 2025.

Im not a Fan of JLR cars, BMW, or Porsche, However I appreciate peoples enthusiasm for the L322 - and as an outsider I think it was a peak vehicle. I do not like the new ones at all, finally although you Love the L322 I can fully see your reasoning for getting rid of it. Getting rid of the Porsche would be Nuts - There will be plenty of time to enjoy that after the birth. Getting rid of the Bimmer would also be nuts, as you are still in lease. Christ I ramble, right choice to get rid of L322.

Congrats to the both of you , cant believe your selling the RR such a lovely car inside and out and especially when its probably the best family car you can own for size wise, Nothing wrong with estate cars but nothing better being a bit higher from the road thats why I prefer suv's plus most estates to me dont look as good. Cant remember the sentimental reasons for owning the lotus but is it a car you will ever use especially after owning a Porsche ( which is not a family car but a fun car for one of you to drive ) defenders look great just what ever you do , do not ever ever buy a 2ltr diesel car ( ingenium engine )

Leasing a car at such a young age is not a great financial decision. So many people do that these days but with the cost of everything going up and housing becoming more unaffordable it seems crazy that we've all been sucked in to spending a massive amount on a lease. I reckon a lot of people are going to move away from leasing and go back to buying cars for cash and putting spare money into financial investments like ISA's, EFT's etc. I used to live in Lyminster just down the road from the coffee place, beautiful part of the world around Arundel.

Porsche = I see myself having it for a long time as it’s the perfect 996 for me Lotus = sentimental value so never selling RR = it’s not my perfect L322 so I’ll get a forever one when the right one comes up!

Biased, but I'd say get a new Discovery 5 instead of the Defender. You'll get the warranty, most of the L322 factor and you'll still be able to change a nappy at the tailgate and put a bike rack on the back. Defender is a great thing, but I'm not sure it's a young family car.
