The buying will always outpace the reading because buying comic books is so gosh darn exciting and it’s a desire that is only ever temporarily satiated. I find my best times to make significant progress on the read pile are when I have little or no opportunities to buy. It’s a nice change of pace because it reminds me how much I love the stories and the more I read the more it fuels the desire to read even more. Happy reading!

I personally only read my weekly NCBD pull. That can sometimes take me a while to get through, even when it’s only a couple books 😳. I made/making an excel spreadsheet with all the story arcs that I’m collecting (all DC events from Crisis on😳😳😳😳). Once I complete the run, then I eventually make the time to read it (behind on that too 😬) I totally respect and admire your commitment to reading!

Yeah, my pull list can take a while to get through as well. I've been thinking about dropping most new books for a while and just focusing on older comics, but I'm just not to that point yet. I may get there eventually, though.

Dang! I thought my read pile was big. I’m all too familiar and I have similar goals moving forward. Focus on my buying and completing runs. Reading one comic a day is way easier said than done 😉

That one comic I read a day needs to be a Flash comic lol. Just out of curiosity, what would you estimate your read pile to be at? Just so I can get a feel for how far gone I truly am.

TDWF- I have to stop buying comics books. Also TDWF-I'm still going buy my new books. And I'm still going to buy stuff that collectors are on the lookout for. And I'm going to buy all the comics on this list. Other than that I'm going to stop buying comics.

I am going to stop buying just whatever I see that I want. I am still buying, but less frequently and with focused purpose!

I have about just as much, if not more, to read. And, it's weird, but I recently came to the realization that, I too, need to stop buying. The only thing that I know I will keep getting are a few Epic Collections coming out because they're continuations on series I've already started and they seem to be going OOP way too quickly. Like you, I won't pass up on a great find or deal, but I'm not actively hunting for now.

Those Epic Collections are going OOP almost instantly. And it's really dumb, too, because they are fantastic and an easy way to collect books.

If it was just the floppies, you would have been spot on. But when you add the trades, it goes up.
