I was celebrating my 17th at the restaurant with my family and we had gone there in order to spend time with my sister as well, who is one of the waitresses in the video. Yes I can confirm the Texans are the most friendly Americans I ever had the pleasure of meeting. ReaL hardworking, salt of the Earth lovely people. I was working in Texas in 2016 for 2 months on a big project and nothing was too much trouble for them. There seems to be two schools of thought on that: 1) 'we're spending a lot of money on ingredients, so we're not going to just give it away when someone wins' or 2) 'we've designed this challenge to be rather difficult, so we're actually going to overcharge a bit for the food knowing that most challengers are going to have to pay'. Without a time limit, this challenge seems to fall under #1.
