Jr. is probably this single most underrated character in the game, and the fact Zap can contend with a top 3 player in the world is pretty ridiculous to still call Bowser Jr. low tier. Smash Tier lists have always been more accurate at the top, as people shuffle characters who are more polarizing in the meta, and shift them out when counter play gets developed. Hence why Sonic doesn't have better moves than Aegis but there is far less counterplay to sonic. People never have to learn how to fight bowser jr. because nobody plays as him. That's also why Zaps results are as good as they are, nobody can practice the matchup consistently. So he has things he can do that people haven't seen everytime he plays them. I'm not saying he's a top tier but he is 100% a mid tier to high tier character. And he has results to show for that.

According to Lumirank and Luminosity's "official" tier list: - The best low tier in the world is Miya's Mii Swordfighter. - The best low tier main in the world is Rarikkusu, the DK/Falco co-main. - The best low tier solo main in the world is Leaf, who plays Robin. The highest ranked player present in this tournament is Guilheww, the 4th highest ranked low tier main behind the aforementioned Rarikkusu and Leaf as well as kept the Villager/Isabelle comain with a Diddy Kong secondary. After that (with other low tier mains spread in between) are JeJaJeJa and Lukewarm, with none of the others being ranked.

When he's playing actual good characters that can edgeguard, his recovery is pretty bad since he doesn't get his up-B after getting hit. He also doesn't threaten kills with grab making it relatively safe to shield at high percent. He's also pretty slow when he isn't playing against Ganon, K.Rool, and Doc. Basically he dumpsters other low tiers but there's nothing he does that actual mid-high tiers don't do better and he doesn't have good matchups against widely-used good characters
