I met a guy recently with epilepsy who had spent his whole life having to avoid flashing light, rapid movements, even movies and TV because he was so sensitive. He couldn't even work at a job! He had recently gotten a very new type of brain surgery to try to treat it, and it was a huge success. Not one seizure since! He lost his vision in his right eye as a result, but it was small price to pay to be able to actually make a living at a job and he was loving catching up on decades of TV on Netflix and playing video games with his family. Very heartwarming!
