The only problem about this video is it's only 9 minutes!!! That was some pretty good tips by Hiswattson and you and boom are truly star pupils!

Honestly, I liked the shorter video, as much as I love apex, im not the biggest fan of gameplay videos, but I do love learning how the pros play, and this video is perfect for learning the tips, and then seeing them applied in game lol at least for me, this is a perfect video haha (tho the more tips the better 😂)

alot of this information is really interesting! instead of targeting raw mechanics like aim or movement etc it's really about his game knowledge through positioning. How does your positioning alter what your enemy and what you see. If you're in a tight corridor change what your opponent sees aka leave the tiny corridor. Move back to turn a ledge/window into a head glitch. match the velocity of your opponent to "slow them down"

The second tip is also good for one clipping at range. By strafing you eliminate (partially) horizontal recoil so you just drag down and to the "corner" away from your movement. thank you taxi :)

For tip 3 about pipes etc it changed if there are mutiple teams in tight circle and l players are skilled. You can actually rely on the fact that team 3 can shoot team 2 if team 2 tried to shoot me from this or that angle etc
@DarkDyllon
@DarkDyllon Жыл бұрын
in most cases a pipe is just a bad idea, only really good if you have no other cover, for example if you get pinched between 2 teams and the only safe spot is within that pipe. but then you want to be looking into escaping that pipe ASAP, since you only got 2 exits, meanwhile if any of the 2 teams pinching you come closer, they can easily either toss nades into the pipe or just literally use any weapon and spray into the middel of it and hitting 99% of their shots, melting you and your team near instant. granted, not many pipes you can enter in Apex, but pipes are just in general a really bad idea, it's the same as being stuck in a small corridor with an enemy on the door. you got 2 exits, to the door and contest it, or back up and go around the corner taking their advantage away. if you gotta push through a corridor and an enemy team is there, atleast contest the door near instant, just sit infront of it. (bonus if your team can capatalize off that, a lot of enemies want to open that door and will do near anything to do that) but at the same time, if you can't get past that door and you know it, just stay away, since the enemies teammates can flank you and just pinch you in a corridor, the only way out being a wraith tactical.

@MatthewSmith2220
@MatthewSmith2220 Жыл бұрын
K, so I like HisWattson and tips 1 and 3 make sense to me. However on tip 2, when you mirror your opponents movement, doesn't that also make it easier for your opponent to shoot you as well? Would that always be a good idea?
@astraha.
@astraha. Жыл бұрын
its a matter of perspective. U already know why u mirror your enemys movement but the enemy still needs to figure that one out. If the enemy isnt a total good player it might caught him off guard. Strafing isnt really that simple because of factors like gun, how much cover, legend, hitbox, health, enviroment etc. my point is, strafing to make urself advantage and get a easier time to hit ur shots can change drastically. Sometimes mirroring ur enemys movement can be a bad idea. For exsample u might expose urself to another angle and get shot. I can go on but u get the point. Theres more to strafing and therefore has a relative high skill ceiling and requires knowledge.
@makobobinzers
@makobobinzers Жыл бұрын
mirroring is best used when tracing moving enemies that are running away from you/not shooting atyou
@mr_tete
@mr_tete Жыл бұрын
User @@astraha. explanation is good. It's basically the equivalent of "Shooting first". You and your enemy can both do it, but the one shooting first is going to be ahead
@astraha.
@astraha. Жыл бұрын
@@mr_tete Because its Apex, shooting first doesnt necessary mean its a win, u are ahead but it depends on how far ahead u are to make it less winable. The first few bullets from a spitfire wont make a difference when I can 1 mag with a r99. Also consider the range of the fight, obiviously we assume its all close range, so no worries but its still something to consider. However, weapons and all that stuff aside. Strafing and the psychology behind it when done right in front of an enemy is a very skillful thing. Truly impressive. So many things so consider and then doing a good strafe to avoid taking too much damage and putting urself into an advantagous position is a incredible thing to do.
@mr_tete
@mr_tete Жыл бұрын
@@astraha. what I'm trying to say is this. The whole point of the mirroring is so that you can can better hit/shoot your opponent without missing. Mirroring slows down their movement(hence the comet example Hiswatson) gave. And you want to have more accuracy and consistency because that's what matters in a gunfight. With all things being constant, like Skill level, Armor, equipment, etc. The one who employ the strategy to give oneself an advantage(in this case mirroring) is going to win. Now you're not completely wrong. You can mirror to put yourself at a disadvantage. But that's a whole another issue borne out of very specific scenario which should not be mentioned in debates such as this.
