"I Hope This Works" but No Trojan Horse | Age of Mythology Retold

I Hope this Works is the sixth scenario of the Fall of the Trident campaign in Age of Mythology Retold. The main objective is to build the famed Trojan Horse and invade Troy from the inside. However, this time we are unable to build the Trojan Horse and instead have to lay siege on Troy without sneaking in (and without siege). Troy has the advantage of improved tech upgrades for their units, many guard towers, and an endless or infinite lightning storms that invoke at the gate of Troy. Arkantos, Ajax, Odysseus, and Agamemnon must destroy the three (3) fortresses within Troy's walls to complete the mission 6. This is done on Titan difficulty (not standard, medium, or hard).

I did this originally when I got the game it wasn't until I bought extended edition years later I got to learn the proper way to do it. I built a structure too close to the horse to protect it and it made it de-spawn. 😅

that is what i don't like in the retold, they change so that many missions are just one solution making the game harder in a artificial way, good video any way

@@Dhskziskskxkskxk Saw already did this mission in the old game, this same challenge, in them you would go to the next era and choose the minor god you wanted, he would take Apollo to the underworld passage to overcome the towers, now the developers in addition to choosing the god minor they make it clear that they don't want you to try to do the challenge, Troia has units with improvements from the last era and the lightning storm spam makes it clear how they want you to play make the dam horse you as the player are not suppose to try to win this way, and is not just in this mission they did that, in several others they they limit the way you can play and which minor gods you have to choose, a very recurring thing is the spam of enemy units in some missions, the A.I has no economy and doesn't play smarter, but now there are waves and more waves of units, the mission that most exemplifies this is the long way home where we have to recover the head of Osires, for each urban center that the A.I has, they send waves of more difficult enemies and there is an A.I that should be neutral that keeps giving mummy spam, but they only attack you the player until you destroy her times

I tried this exact strat before i saw this video, hydra spam, but i couldn't attack the gates, nor the walls, they seemed to be neutral even though it said enemies.

Yeah I talked about this briefly in the video. They make the gate and walls impenetrable before building the Trojan horse. So I had to disable it
