@@ninjakid20001 You absolutely can. It does not track to either side at all, you just need to make sure you sidestep when the move is actually being used, and not before. Sidewalk works very well against Victor u1+2 as well.

Fighting games often are. You just have to be OK with losing a ton until you start to learn some basics. When I started FGs, my win rate was straight up 5% in the game I was playing. Just don't get too obsessed over combos early. It works in the short term, since you can convert a lot of damage on just a few interactions, but learning fundamentals will take you a lot further. A lot of the coaching in Sajam Tekken Slam will refute this (if you saw, watch PhiDX's video with Joey Fury), but that worked for them because it was a short term goal to get them as good as they can in time for the tourney, but it's not the best way to really get into fighting games for the long haul.
