Congrats. What an honor to be able to hunt an American Icon like the Buffalo. I've hunt most of my life (58 years) and have seen a lot of scenarios. I can honestly say I felt sad for the buffalo when he first went down and the others went to him. Didn't realize how social buffalo where, I figured they would scatter. A happy but sad moment. 🤘😎

When you were being so quiet as you took aim on the bull and then your voice-over came on at regular volume, I found myself jumping and saying "shushing!" the screen. Talk about getting into it, haha! Nice job on your bison. He's a beauty. What an amazing opportunity to be able to hunt such a magnificent animal. If you want to make meat tough in a frying pan, add salt before cooking it. If you want it to have the same effect and not be tough, add the salt after cooking it. I even use unsalted butter to keep the meat tender and juicy.

At 2:30 you can actually see the bullet moving through the air. Its hard to see but the camera caught a few frames. You can also see the shockwave. Because the bullet is moving supersonic, you can see the pressure wave of the bullet moving faster than the air itself. Kinda cool.

I’m a big game hunter for many years. What I would be interested in is the guide’s assessment of the hit. Did you hit the heart, break ribs, pass through etc., at 150 meters with a center fire rifle I’m surprised that three perfectly placed shots didn’t drop the animal after a couple of minutes. Seems really weird, Magnificent animal, congratulations on a memorable hunt.

Usually Native Americans didn’t hunt them with bows, and if they did it would be on horseback. What they would do (since bison were so abundant) they would chase em and herd em off a cliff😂 and of course when the pilgrims came they had guns.

Cool video! But the choice of caliber could've been better. I mean, 10min for the bull to even lay down.. C'mon you will have to do better then that, I know bisons are very hard but 10min is too long. Then you need to take some more shots, not ethical to the animal. Maybe you should've choose a bigger caliber that leave more energy into the body. I now that they have larger chest cavity then smaller animals but they also have bigger heart so they pump blood faster, so the talk about that it take longer time is just bullsh*t. You can place a dubbel lung shot in a big moose bull and they go down in 10sek. Because bigger animals pumps more blood, just logic. So be a man and admit that the first shots was poorly placed.. although i'm pretty sure that the bison would've gone down fast with a bigger rifle with em first shot as well. Interesting choice of cartridge; the PRC is a necked-down 375 Ruger. For bison I'd think a 300gr 375 Ruger would be more effective. And these critters are tough! Shot placement looked excellent. The old-timer was dead with the first round, he just didn't know it.
