I Install an Ashley 11,000 BTU unit in my 10 x 16 foot off grid cabin. I cut a hole in my cabin and hang the unit before the gas fitters arrive to plumb and test the system. The forty pound propane tank will last me a while given I use it a few days a week for three hours at a time. It took a month and a half to complete the project because the pipe and gas fitters are busy this time of year.

Hi Peter. Your set up is nice for the heater. I hope that you will consider a propane tank support. There are several types that would make removing the tank for refilling a little easier. Have good days!

I have the 11,000 BTU Ashley heater, and I can only get the pilot working the burner is not working, any suggestions?

I had the same issue. It said to use 11" water column up to 14" wc ... it seems to have something faulty. I bought an adjustable regulator that goes from 0-20 psi and now it works... kinda... :( I'll probably just modify mine. It's dumping a fair bit of heat outside and very little inside. Pilot dims considerably while burner is on.. seems to be a bad regulator or some such. 27.○○○" wc is 1 psi

Did you wrap the blanket around the vent pipe? Kind of wished you would have showed how you did the outside part.

The vent pipe and pipework were done by the gas fitters. I tried not to bother them too much with my cameras ... hence the limited footage of their work.

Good job, Do you have a second tank to replace that one when empty, or will you just bring it home for refill when needed? Sorry, I assume it refills like your standard b.b.q. tank?
@TheWoodlandReboot
@TheWoodlandReboot 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, it refills like the standard BBQ tank. I have the one 40 pound tank and will use a BBQ in a pinch as a backup.

Being it's been about 10 months would you have any consumption rate type of info now it's snowing. And last avg fall. How many days/weeks would you say a tank has been lasting and assuming same usage 3 hr x 3day wk. Great video I'm ordering either this one or a martin 11k. What are your thoughts on it and was it worth it? Thanks for your time Sir

I need to do a better job tracking usage. I started using the 40lb tank in December last year. I ran it, like you indicate, about 3 hrs a day up to 3 days a week. I spent two nights there last year when it was -10C outside. I stopped using it in late March with the arrival of Spring. It fired it up about 6 more times this autumn before the tank became empty. So, pretty good for the application.

Don't buy one, if it arrives defective, they refuse refunds. I lost $700 on mine. Not a product of the USA but rather China, and the quality control doesn't exist; no product testing at all. And US stove (the manufacturer) won't replace it.

Hi Nathalie, Sorry to hear that. It is unfortunate. Mine works very well. Did you have a professional company do the gas line installation? Have you tried the various trouble shooting options listed in the manual? Hope you can get it to work. Peter at the Reboot.

How long has the tank lasted?

I'm currently using the heater about 3 hours a day 3 days a week. I guesstimate that I have approximately 3/4s of the tank remaining.

Do you think the 11,000 would be enough for my 450 sq ft cabin? Or should I get the 17,000 model. Thanks. (Middle of Maine.)
@TheWoodlandReboot
@TheWoodlandReboot 2 жыл бұрын
Middle of Maine ... we share similar winters! Keep in mind I'm not a heating expert. I think the 17000 model would better suit your needs given your cabin size. I think the smaller unit would be overworked and not fully heating your space. Hope that helps, Peter at the Reboot.

@@TheWoodlandReboot Thank you. I've had a few recommendations, and every one says get the bigger one and turn it down rather than getting the smaller one and running it full blast. Being in a place where it will be below freezing for weeks to months at a time is a contributing factor.
