Thank you so much! It has been years since I had soldered anything. I'm also really glad that the switch fit around my aftermarket handle bars. Thank you again for watching my video. Aloha and take care my friend

Thanks for the video. I just got my switch in the mail yesterday and will follow your advice. My only concern is that the PO had it rigged in such a way that isn't so straight forward. There's lots of tape in four places on the coil wire!!!

I was expecting a jerry rig job but this was spot on! Great video man.

Broxty I'm not a pro but I try to look like one LOL. When I first uploaded this video I didn't think anyone would actually watch it. Thank you so much for watching and commenting. Aloha and take care

Appreciate your video . My bike won't shut off with the switch when it's running and I have a rekluss clutch which won't let me dump it in gear to kill the bike . The only way I can quickly stop the bike is to pull the choke on . So I will be changing that kill switch and hopefully that is the problem. Thanks again for vid.

Hopefully it will help someone that needs this to be done. I wasn't sure if the switch would fit my after market handlebars but it worked out just fine. Thank you so much for watching and commenting Aloha and take care Fritz

Aloha my friend!! Very nice work installing the kill switch! I think your connection will last forever with the solder and heat shrink! Not overkill at all, I would say perfection!! Awesome job and very cool video!!

One question. I bought apico kill switch and I want to connect to my dirtbike. I cut my original kill switch behind the mask and I have two black wires, and apico has one black cable and earth wire. How do I connect it? I need help here.

Let's say I put a key kill switch on my dirt bike couldn't some one "hot wire" my bike by taking the key kill switch off and twisting the original wires together?

Thanks for this info. My KX-250 kill switch died out. I bought a "relatively" cheap volt meter and tested the switch. So I purchased the switch and watched your video again prior to installing the switch. Although, I forgot all about the soldering kit and etc. Don't think it should matter too much since I electric taped the heck out of it. Does the soldering make that much difference? Thanks again in advance.

In the long run the tape may loose it's adhesive abilities. But should be okay for now. Thanks for watching and commenting.

How can I tell if my shooter has a kill switch. Unable to start or charge new battery. Drove it home two weeks later will not start and will not charge. Please help Barb
@MuddyDrivewayProductions9 жыл бұрын
Barbara Zupan Hi Barb, what's a shooter? If it is a Moped, Scooter, Street Bike or any type of gas machine it should have a kill switch. If you installed a new battery with appropriate voltage and it is now dead that would mean that you have another issue. If you know someone that has access to a Voltmeter and a charger they should be able to find the problem. Thank you for watching and commenting. I hope you get it fixed and back on the road.

Is one of the wires a ground
@MuddyDrivewayProductions9 жыл бұрын
What the Kill switch does is it grounds out the power to kill the Spark Plug. I think that both wires are ground and by pushing the button it completes the circuit. Thank you for watching and commenting.

someone should invent a tool to remove the insulation from around the wire. It could be called a wire stripper. That same person could probably invent something to crimp the connections to the wire. It would probably be called a wire crimper.
@DaniBarza8 жыл бұрын
It's useful to learn how to strip and close connectors without appropriate tool
@keithbrookshire8 жыл бұрын
Yes it is. I've stripped several wires with a knife since I posted this. I think I was doing some drunk youtubing. Sorry about that.

Honda kill switches are so ugly. Kawasaki has best looking
@stevehufngel72215 жыл бұрын
Jeremy Wheat i agree with you. i prefer the ones that is an actual switch not a push botton so it can be switched off all the time
