I've always preferred the solar panel being separate to the light unit, similar to your first solar light... that way you can place and angle the solar panel towards the sun to the south. With this unit, say you place to to aim south, then the back with the solar panel would be pointed north, where it would only get indirect light to slowly charge the batteries...

I'm on the fence about the solar panels. The overall design is more pleasing but you cannot adjust the panel without adjusting the direction of the light. Seems like no direct light is hitting it and it's gathering reflected light from your house. Might be fine in the summer but in the winter where you'd want all the light you can get, it may become a problem.

Thank you for taking the time to do your video presentation. My wife and I just purchased the same unit and installed it yesterday. The installation was easy, but the instructions on how to operate it after we charged it for the day was not clear. Your video helped explain how to use the remote control properly.
