What is the base model garmin sonar? You can use with a live scope set up.

Unfortunately I'm no help on that question. This was the only livescope I've installed and it was all brought to me already purchased by the customer. I'd consider giving Garmin's marine division a phone call, or even Bass Pro. They've got folks who specialize in that area.

Thank you for the video, very interested in this setup. Is the livescope pole strong enough mounted that high up while trolling or when the water is a little rough? Seems like it might need another support about halfway down the pole to achieve stability in those conditions and might be prone to wobble. Would be good to know your thoughts on that if you have any feedback. Thank you!

It's 100% designed to be run extended out like that so I'd have to say that yes, it's strong enough. This boat is being used hugely for crappie fishing on a big reservoir lake in Ohio, and I haven't heard any complaints about the setup. Would it hurt to add another brace somewhere closer to the water? Absolutely not. I just don't know that it would be necessary. I'm sure others will use the deck mount provided with that transducer bracket and simply mount it out on the front or rear deck where it would be closer to the water. The goal of this boat was to make it so everyone could stay inside the railings while fishing (youngsters and adults) which is why it's mounted up on the rail like it is.

What rail mount did you use?

I show the transducer mount from Beatdown Outdoors in the video. I show the bracket I made to mount to the railing as well. I omitted the normal mount that would go on a fishing boat and used rectangle tubing to mount the quick release bracket to the railing. The rectangle tube acts as a place to bolt the quick release bracket to and then secure the bracket to the railings.
