Better way to say it “It’s no different from pedophilia. Both need some mental help and therapy of some kind because what they do isn’t right nor safe.” It is indeed a "natural urge" but it's not a good one for anyone involved. Luckily it IS treatable, but the issue is the stigma humans have around it in the first place which causes a lot of these afflicted people to not get help when they really should.

Here's a very important thing to keep in mind when addressing zoophiles; The reason most of these people become so invested in zoophilia (and why people get invested in any toxic trait) is because they get so ostracized by a world that hates them, and expresses that hate for them outwardly (understandably so). Though, then these people come to them and show them validation, acceptance, and love despite their percieved flaws. If you want to avoid people becoming zoophiles, stop lashing out. This unnatural attraction may be something they've come to think of as a part of them, and they don't really know much else. Tell them that, so long as they haven't abused any animals, that it's okay and they can do better. That they need help. By lashing out and being hateful, we create this divide between that person and what they see as 'normal people.' This trait becomes such a negative part of their life, that they become vulnerable to other toxic people validating their awful traits, leading to this disgusting display of attempted acceptance. Zoophilia should never, ever be accepted. But we also shouldn't be pushing people away for feelings they may not know how to overcome, and need to show them that they can get better, to be worthy of acceptance. Any zoophiles reading this; I know it hurts, and I know that clinging to this part of you that's become so spotlighted in your head by other people is not easy to overcome. But, you can work on this. Therapists can help you understand your feelings better, and overcome them, to show love to animals without abusing them, and to escape the toxic hugbox that is the zoophile "community." You can do it, you can do better. It's not all over for you. And, it's okay to be confused about yourself. There are people that are happy to help you get better, please seek out this help as soon as you can.

I have intrusive thoughts with my OCD. I hate every thought that pops up due to my mental illness. That includes the ones of bestiality. I have four cats, and anytime I have an intrusive thought about doing something absolutely abominable to my pets, I'm disgusted and upset, and distraught because I would never want to put my babies through something so hurtful and confusing. I have a pet cat for seven whole years, can’t imagine doing such a vile thing to her. No sane person thinks of doing such a thing to a pet. Hell, I even view her as my little daughter! Pets depend on us for food, love and shelter. I remember the time where she injured her leg (the poor thing) and had to stay in a closed space to minimize movement since we had stairs. I decided to let her stay in my room, even moving her food, water, and litter box inside. For 10 days, I took care of her, spoiled her with pets and occasional kisses, and made her sleep on my bed. I know a dog who is blind (can see some shadows in one eye, we believe, but can very easily be considered blind), has difficulty walking, and potentially neurological damage- due to severe, horrific abuse. He was a foster fail with another volunteer at the shelter, so he’s safe now and has a kitty friend too. The idea that a zoophile could want to do unspeakable things to him makes me sick. He’s more defenseless than even a typical dog because his jaw had been broken and his skull caved in, so he’s not quite as strong, not to mention he’s not even a year old. Even if the dog thinks what it's doing is ok, it doesn't mean it is. Animals are incapable of understanding the repercussions of sex and one of those repercussions when it comes to having sex with humans is to have morbidly disfigured children when the female gets pregnant. A human and a dog are incompatible for mating. That's all there is to it.

To have a healthy sexual relationship with anyone, there needs to be negotiation, consent, honesty, comunication, self control and respect. You can't have any of those with an animal, and can't call consent when an animal is in heat and just tries to mate with anything they see. In case it tries to mate with a sofa leg, it doesn't mean it wants to mate with a sofa, same as if it tries it with your leg it doesn't mean it wants to mate with you, it's just sexually excited and sometimes they can't distinguish what they can or can't mate with...

The craziest one I seen was a 16yr old open zoophile who was homeless, as well as gearing up to (i hope) go to jail for killing a guy.
