So glad to see that you are back following your passion!

It surprised me to see that his "basic setup" uses the same refractor i use. I wouldve expected a Tak or maybe one of those 4 inch f2.8 reflectors

Great interview, I was glued to the screen, despite not being that interested in astrophotography.

I assume its a Quattro Newtonian. Heard from skywatcher webcast channel that the costs in price didn't justify the very small difference in weight saved with the CF tubus. You can still buy the Quattros with steel tubes.

Then it make a lot more sense :) thank.

Awesome presentation and a lot of great information. I heard you and Jakob say his scope was no longer available. I look for sky-watcher 10" Newtonian and seem to find that maybe a different version of the same scope is available? Can you tell me what the difference is and was Jakobs scope just and older version of what's available now or what was special about his?
@cosmic_curiosityАй бұрын
I think it's the carbon fiber version that's not available anymore. The steel version is still being made.

That's cool. Imagine if we can have Jakob joining the Stargazing in Lyngby in September.

Best astrophotographer in the World?! Hmm …

I don't like to spread negativity but yeah. The DSO is kinda beginner level ish, the nightscapes seems pretty good tho, but cant really say much based on whats seen here.

The guy literally won the International Photography Awards for best astro photo 2 years in a row. I think that qualifies as one of the best in the world.

@@cosmic_curiosity I dont know what IPA have as guidelines for the Photos but one of the shots was the one with the sun and ISS right? Thats a pretty cool one. For things like APOD and IOTD etc its often not the skill or quality that matters even tho theres some base guidelines, more the creativity / intersting photo / something new etc. Many People seem to take pride in those "awards" for some reason but they dont really mean anything / show anything about your skill level.
@anata51275 ай бұрын
@@cosmic_curiosity It is easier to win 10 IPA than one image of the day on AstroBin 😂.

astrophotgraphy awards need seperate categories , he's night scape is 10/10 it's going be harder to compete against that with deep sky unless you're in a good bortle zone with good gear and there's only every so much artistic aproach you can do with deep sky . should only be awards for seperate categories, he's charging $900 usd for a 90cm deep sky poster that has alot of noise,cliped background and stars ,wrong colour balance on the rgb ... his deep sky is very lack luster and what i would consider intermediate level at most . put your mount away grab a dslr and a 14mm if you want to win this title xd ..

I agree a more fine grained category would be nice. One for nightscapes one for DSO and maybe one for Cityscapes / moonscape
