Very strange that they never asked # of checkride failures before you got there. That's always a huge question for pretty much any pilot job

Thanks for the info. I hadn’t heard about the long term implications of a check ride. I’ll never take them lightly.

Agree. I call BS on what they told you. If Piper time was a problem that would be a requirement from the start of the app process

I think the flight does offer part 61 because when they first started out, they were part 61 and it was called US sports aircraft before they renamed themself to thrust flight and they was part 61 for a little bit but now they become part 141 because of their affiliated aviation college programs

My buddy got a job there recently and busted his commercial checkride, however I had a poor experience there in the second round of the interview.

So they lied to me? I'm shocked haha. Not really. I suspected it was all a lie. Care to tell me what your experience was like in the 2nd round? You can message me privately if you'd like.

Why couldn't they do the interview by zoom? Taking in consideration that they are a 141 flight school, I take their flight instructors are a W-2 tax status? Since the #1 problem with students is the finances, what do they do to minimize the impact? Do they find housing for their students... How long do you expect me to stay here? Does the flight school list other flight instructors strong topics on a spreadsheet so that way the student to be forwarded over to them? BIG ONE: 1)how many other flight instructors have a music background playing a musical instrument! 2)same question for the student? Whenever possible, does the school engage in remote work? I think you can do it with redbird flight simulators? What does the flight school do in the event that all the aircraft need to be removed off the airport at a moment's notice? What role do you expect to play out during a medical emergency in the facility? What are the phone numbers for emergency services local? What are my insurance coverages? Do I need to purchase my own? What happens when a student wants to work on a rating that we don't provide? Do you engage in other sources of funding for the student? Are there any do's and Don'ts? Is there a uniform or dress code for the school and if so who is responsible for the cleaning and up keep? Do I get my own email or a company email? Do i get my own laptop or do I provide my own laptop? Does the company have it own kitchen and cook both for its employees and customers, or do everybody waste money by eating out all the time! Does the airfield offer a live in resident program whereas the resident helps maintain the airfield but does not pay rent? FYI: Generally found in the farming industry! Is my status full-time or part-time? PER MY AGE, what is my health and welfare package consist of?

That’s a lot of sacrifice for a $22 an hour job. I got some stuff to say about them as a former CFI academy student.

I'm retired from my first career, so the pay doesn't make a difference to me. Shoot me a message, I'd love to hear. Many people already have.

@@PilotJoeFLif you are not in their ZTA program you will wait a while for an examiner. They paired me with someone who issued me a NOD within an hour then he had another exam right after mine. I talked to a CFI there and he told me this Ahole issued a NOD all non ZTA CFI candidates. There was no follow up from the school because they already got your money. I noticed that they have a culture of arrogant behavior there.

@@PilotJoeFLIn general, if you manage to get an interview and they disqualify you, it's common to never hear back from them. Most of the time you submit resumes through online portals which scan your resume for specific keywords. If those keywords are not present in the way they want/expect them, you receive an automated rejection email; sometimes you don't even get that. If you do happen to get a call, it is usually an HR person doing a phone screen which simply means they are listening for specific keywords also, but may give you a chance to explain things better. If you manage to get past the HR rep, then you may finally get to talk with someone who actually understands what you're talking about. To say it's not fun looking for jobs today is an understatement.

Thrust flight will never make it big. Too much overhead cost and there are already some crappy nation wide schools out there.
