I'm a tall white blonde blue-eyed Finnish woman living in the Netherlands. The Dutch are also tall, so tall in fact that I feel small here which I never did back home. A lot of them are blonde with blue eyes too, so I can pass for a Dutch person by my looks. But even though I've lived here close to 20 years and I'm white like they are, I still think the Dutch look really alike. I constantly see people on the street who look kind of familiar and I have no idea whether I have actually met them somewhere or they look like a celebrity I've seen on TV or they just have a style which is common to the Dutch people of their generation. The Dutch seem to have this desire to be just like everyone else. "Be like everyone and you're already crazy enough" is a popular saying. For me raised in Finland where we value independence, self-reliance & often do things on our own, this group-orientation of the Dutch feels weird. If something's good (like music or movies) but not the latest thing anymore, the Dutch label it "wrong". They're in a way dedicated followers of fashion, which causes them to look alike.

Thats actually interesting. Its a collectivist attitude. Almost no independence or notion of individual liberty. Be part of the crowd, don't stand out say and do what the collective thinks and wants, not what you personally think or believe. As an American, that's just absolutely wild. As a small tribe, I can see how it's beneficial to some degree...same thing as a tiny communistic community. But once the crowd gets too big, human nature of individuality take over. Appreciate the fact you typed that, thats really interesting to learn

This is one of the greatest joys of my life is watching new people discover Tom MacDonald. I've never met a single person and I've probably seen three or four hundred reactors react to Tom that nobody disliked him. You can say whatever you want about any other artist anywhere from any generation from anytime from any type of music and you can say a lot about Tom MacDonald but one thing 100% is true is when you go look at any of his videos and you scroll down to the comments you will see comments in his section that you won't see anywhere else like I'm a 68 year old grandmother I've never listened to rap but I like this young man, or I'm a world war II veteran I'm 93 years old and I like what this fella has to say, or I'm a single mom I'm 32 years old and thanks to Tom's music I've been off of alcohol for 6 months. Anybody of any age of any race of any ethnicity of any stature of any job of any nationality can identify with what Tom has to say.
