The crazy part is that deleting the footage did not mean it was gone. Data is recoverable unless its written over specifically.
@celem10003 ай бұрын
Just to play the other side here for fairness. The sorta cctv a bar has generally records to a disk. The data is only held for a certain period of time, once the disk fills the oldest data is overwritten. So law enforcement has a time window in which to request footage of a specific point in time, after which it is very much destructively deleted, it's how the system is designed. They ain't holding all the footage they ever took, that just can't work. Source: installed these things for a living, systems we sold could hold about 4 weeks if the cams were on 12hrs a day after which day 1 goes bye bye. I can't speak to how long a period this system in Austin might have been able to hold, varies wildly based on budget and the quality you want on the recording. I still think the APD are being incompetent here, pulling the wrong day is a mistake they shouldn't make, but that data could absolutely be irretrievable. It's not a deleted memory address, the bytes have been overwritten, gone. It was Tyler that said 'deleted', and he's not a hardware tech so I'm not sure he would know the difference

It reminds me of the way the UK police cover up the grooming gangs because of the optics and not wanting to make the politicians in charge upset by revealing what they've done. If the APD is aware that this is a foreign cartel operating in the US, they would likely try to hide it to not make the democrats open border policies look even worse. Especially in Austin, which leans far, far left. These kinds of stories are actually very common in central America... often with another element involved... Scopolomine.

I live in Austin and was drugged at a downtown bar. I only had 3 drinks over the course of probably 4 hours. After arriving at home around 11pm, sounds started to echo and I got very sweaty and nauseous. About 15 minutes after symptoms started to set in, I started vomiting and ended up being paralyzed from the neck down on my bathroom floor. I vomited for nearly 2 hours. I remember everything but couldn’t do anything to fight through the paralysis. I do think there is somebody out there looking to harm/rob people. I believe that in my case, I was drugged so I could later be robbed. Luckily my girlfriend was able to take care of me but please be careful when in downtown Austin. I worked for Austin 311 last year n i got so many calls about this. I had to take calls from citizens who were pist because APD detectives would never call them back. I quit after i took a non emergency 911 call from a guy who couldn't get through to 911 emergency so he called us n we were on hold with 911 for 24 min. His dad had broken into him n his moms house n shot her n her friend in the kitchen n he was hiding in the bathroom with me on the phone. The last thing i heard was omg please hurry he's coming n then i heard gunshots n the phone hung up. It was devastating. I couldn't work for the city of Austin anymore after that. Theres a serial killer or someone is drugging these people. Ive said it for a long time n working so close taking calls for the city i saw it first hand, i feel like they didnt take these calls seriously. Its sad 💜

With head trauma, and some with roofies in their system? Why would the police not want to address this? How does a cop arrest someone for 'misusing a sidewalk' when there are homeless on the same sidewalk not being bothered Edit: I agree with the idea he was kinda pestering, but it seems like a double standard when there are tweakers and stuff shouting at pedestrians

Same with Richmond!! We are on the James River, bars, clubs etc all along it on riverside. Even concerts right on it. Our drowning cases are mostly kayakers, kids, white water rafting and the occasional adult drowning but never really alcohol related more recreation in the parks related or swimming near the rocks and getting sucked under.

This is the EXACT MO of the ones going on in Chicago. The cops really need to figure this out, instead of jailing someone for walking the wrong way.

I got drugged several times in Austin, Texas when I lived there in my party years. Anything downtown or Rainey is super sketch. My buddy and I got drugged one time and ended up wandering around for hours. Only had 2 drinks that night. The goal is to rob the dudes, and r the girls. The bartenders are DEFINITELY in on it. The stuff doesn't get in your drink by accident. I had several friends that worked the industry out there and they told us some the darkest stuff you'd ever imagine.

@@Elmexicanooo In Austin it's common for bars to change names every few years due to scandals involving sex trafficking and drugs. Allegedly authorities are heavily involved. Lots of disappearances and sick situations some of the girls I knew were involved in. They just dealt with it because the money was... _obscene_ Making $1k a night just serving drinks back in 2006 is wild. That was common out there. I think part of it is being paid off.

@@michaelhollis764 Indeed. He ASKED to be interviewed. Then said, "...strangle them and throw them in the river." Then accused the interviewer of being "the ripper" (deflection), and said the interviewer would be a good cover. He wore a benign cap, shirt, jeans-- but had an expensive i-watch on. People think that SKs are all young white men (Dahmer, Bundy), but actually a lot of them have been middle-aged, out of shape men. They all seem to seek the spotlight in some one way or another.

I think that might have been the officer passing off Tyler for being drunk and harassing police. Not that it was that serious. Our guy was tipsy and asking cops a question. But if we saw a few minutes of footage he was probably out there for an hour bugging them. Haha. You'd be annoyed too. Tyler's got that dedication and that officer had that patience.
