The crazy part is that deleting the footage did not mean it was gone. Data is recoverable unless its written over specifically.
@celem1000
@celem1000 3 ай бұрын
Just to play the other side here for fairness. The sorta cctv a bar has generally records to a disk. The data is only held for a certain period of time, once the disk fills the oldest data is overwritten. So law enforcement has a time window in which to request footage of a specific point in time, after which it is very much destructively deleted, it's how the system is designed. They ain't holding all the footage they ever took, that just can't work. Source: installed these things for a living, systems we sold could hold about 4 weeks if the cams were on 12hrs a day after which day 1 goes bye bye. I can't speak to how long a period this system in Austin might have been able to hold, varies wildly based on budget and the quality you want on the recording. I still think the APD are being incompetent here, pulling the wrong day is a mistake they shouldn't make, but that data could absolutely be irretrievable. It's not a deleted memory address, the bytes have been overwritten, gone. It was Tyler that said 'deleted', and he's not a hardware tech so I'm not sure he would know the difference

I used to work as a teller at a bank here in Texas. One day one of our customers damaged another customer’s car and drove off. The other customer didn’t realize his car was damaged at first but came back and asked for footage. We had cameras inside and out and the footage but my manager lied to him and said we didn’t have anything. It was so messed up and I felt bad for him. Just wanted to share that companies will lie or hide the truth rather than doing the right thing.

It reminds me of the way the UK police cover up the grooming gangs because of the optics and not wanting to make the politicians in charge upset by revealing what they've done. If the APD is aware that this is a foreign cartel operating in the US, they would likely try to hide it to not make the democrats open border policies look even worse. Especially in Austin, which leans far, far left. These kinds of stories are actually very common in central America... often with another element involved... Scopolomine.

When the dude being interviewed mentioned "Getting picked up by a fake Uber..." and I got a chill. That actually happened to me in Atlantic City. I had been drinking for sure, but I realized about 30 second into the ride my phone was dead and there was no way I could have called and Uber. When I asked him to stop and drop me off he said "No its ok, ill take you were you need to go anyway." He then turned down a dark road and started speeding up. I freaked out, grabbed the steering wheel and started to pull it towards the curb/buildings and screamed "pull over or ill kill us both!" He slammed on the brakes, I jumped out and he sped off. People are insane, I feel horrible for all these people that have lost innocent family member.

I live in Austin and was drugged at a downtown bar. I only had 3 drinks over the course of probably 4 hours. After arriving at home around 11pm, sounds started to echo and I got very sweaty and nauseous. About 15 minutes after symptoms started to set in, I started vomiting and ended up being paralyzed from the neck down on my bathroom floor. I vomited for nearly 2 hours. I remember everything but couldn’t do anything to fight through the paralysis. I do think there is somebody out there looking to harm/rob people. I believe that in my case, I was drugged so I could later be robbed. Luckily my girlfriend was able to take care of me but please be careful when in downtown Austin. This kind of stuff really does happen! I feel so sorry for all of the lives that have been lost from similar situations.

In my town Amsterdam (a city with a lot of water and a lot of drunk people) around 19 people a year drown in the canals (most drunken or under influence). So having 30 cases over a period of 8 years (less than 4 a year) in a city with a party area next to a quick flowing, poorly lit river doesn't seem too extraordinary to be honest.

I worked for Austin 311 last year n i got so many calls about this. I had to take calls from citizens who were pist because APD detectives would never call them back. I quit after i took a non emergency 911 call from a guy who couldn't get through to 911 emergency so he called us n we were on hold with 911 for 24 min. His dad had broken into him n his moms house n shot her n her friend in the kitchen n he was hiding in the bathroom with me on the phone. The last thing i heard was omg please hurry he's coming n then i heard gunshots n the phone hung up. It was devastating. I couldn't work for the city of Austin anymore after that. Theres a serial killer or someone is drugging these people. Ive said it for a long time n working so close taking calls for the city i saw it first hand, i feel like they didnt take these calls seriously. Its sad 💜

I took one more drink and told the guy we had to leave.. and he was ADAMANT WE stayed and partied… was even telling us he knew better bars and had girls waiting for us… my boy got aggressive and told him to f off and we left.. well on the walk back to the truck I started to feel a bit weird.. we took one picture on my phone… and next thing yk I wake up it’s 8am and we’re both passed out in his truck my boy thrown up everywhere and we were just both confused in what happened.. keep in mind we went to ONLY ONE BAR and had 2-3 drinks each.. so idkkk hearing all this kller talk makes me have chills.. cause what if we came face to face with the atx kller

I've lived in Austin my whole life. There's a lot of drunk people in that area, and drunk people do silly things. I acknowledge that people could get into the water of their own volition. That being said, I'm CONVINCED there's more to this story than the cops let on. Rainey has been a bar district for 14 years, yet now suddenly there's this uptick in bodies? With head trauma, and some with roofies in their system? Why would the police not want to address this? The city has wasted millions on a boardwalk and other "nice to haves", but won't put up trail cams or more barriers to the water? Something is very, very wrong.
@richhoops2413

Rainey didn't become a bar district until, maybe 2010 or so, maybe later. I had a friend who lived on the roundabout on Rainey, right next to the Mexican Cultural Center. On the daily I see naked high homeless people walking in the street screaming at people. I’ve seen a grown ass women take a shit in the street in front of a full school bus and wipe her ass with her hand. Never once do the cops stop them. Drugs and homelessness plagues this town. While I visited Manchester a couple months back, I was told multiple stories involving a potential serial killer named the “Manchester Pusher”, who’s been in and around the canal area. Just like lady bird lake, there are no lights or cameras and all the victims suspiciously drowned after a night of drinking, the exact same way these poor individuals have been found in Texas. Majority have also been found to be young men as well. Hearing the British man towards the end of the video adds to the irony of how similar these two cases are… Stay safe guys!

He managed the FBI’s financial crimes program for the Northeast region, and was a detailee from the FBI to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). Before working at FBI Headquarters, SSA Cincinelli led financial crime investigations in the FBI’s flagship New York Field Office. SSA Cincinelli conducted investigations involving market manipulation, corporate & accounting fraud, Ponzi schemes, money laundering, insider trading, and antitrust violations, among others.
