As a Thai, what defines you is what's in your heart. Not who your heart desires. Body, genders. All that don't matter

0:40 Nah, Thailand is way more relaxed and chilled about it than pretty much all those Western countries. What an absurd chart.

@@wehatethecold I'd say less of those overly detailed infographics in future videos, we come for the KZbinr's perspective (whether right, wrong, whatever) and their spontaneous reactions. Don't feel under pressure to know everything :)

The stereotype about Thailand and ladyboys is very overblown and used to mock the country and I don't understand why they are just people same as me. I have friends who are trans in thailand and they are awesome people probably more accepting than some of the people I grew up with.

I know Thai culture & people very well...& it's not that Thia people are accepting, it's that the culture is generally insular in that they don't poses interest in others. This isn't just about sexuality, but in a broad spectrum of life. This in turn gives the feeling of freedom for those who are different than the considered normal.

I think Thai people tend to be more accepting of LGBTQ+ identities compared to many other Asian countries. The Thai word "kathoey" is often used to describe transgender or non-binary individuals, and it carries a connotation of FREEDOM and self-acceptance. In contrast, my own experience growing up gay in Hong Kong was quite different. Many of the gay and transgender individuals I met there felt they were born in the wrong body, but they were often too afraid to openly embrace their true identity due to societal pressures. There was a lack of acceptance, and many felt compelled to deny or hide their authentic selves. However, the situation seems to be quite different in Thailand. The greater societal acceptance allows transgender and gender non-conforming Thais to more freely express themselves and live their lives as they feel is right for them. This is a very positive thing. While I personally don't like the association between transgender individuals and sex work that somehow exists in Thailand, but the overall environment of self-acceptance and social acceptance is quite admirable. It provides transgender Thais with more opportunities to find fulfillment in their lives compared to the struggles faced by LGBTQ+ people in less accepting societies.

In my opinion, in community people don't judge someone else here in Thailand. But for the job like government or some company aren't accept it 100% fully. So LGBTQ+ having this issue for limited job.

I'm Canadian and doing my best to transition in Canada, so much red tape and hatred. Everyone assumes that we're Liberal and they hate us. We're like a lightning rod these days. I wish I still had money left and move to Thailand.
