I don't know if I'd necessarily ever consider it liberating, but I don't think it necessary has to be as horrible as this womans story. I think that our legal system kinda opens the opportunity for pimps to control these women. So while I don't necessarily think prostitution is good thing it's something that is always going to be there, there's a reason it's called "The oldest profession". I'm not really sure what should be done to improve it, just that I feel there is ways to improve the experiences of these women so it's not as horrible.

I've talked in depth with many prostitutes in relation to my work. Idk about Vegas but around here virtually all the s** workers are willfully playing the game. Taking advantage of lonely depressed in-cel men for every dime they can. Usually trying to feed their own greed and addiction. Then they play the victim when they get caught up in the legal system. I have however met a couple of true victims of the industry. Very sad, horrific stories indeed. However, that is not typical. It's because of this that I believe in legalization of s**work. It's happening anyway, bug with a legal market with some oversight then workers and customers are more safe.

Y'all don't understand how gr0om1ng works There are women who go into it on their own volition but most don't They come from broken homes, toxic boyfriends, prior abuse, they get turned out because they get hooked on drugs (not always drugs they willingly took), kidnapped and forced into it, dirt poor and prayed upon... The way it happens isn't always cut and dry There's even people forced into as a child by their own parents so they don't know anything else So stop shaming people who didn't choose that life, they feel enough shame on their own you don't need to pile more on top Its very heartbreaking

This trauma bonding and abusive relationships stuff don't just happen between pimps and and prostitutes. It happens between regular couples that you might see walking down the streets, too. I have a friend. She used to be in an abusive relationship where the guy would manipulate her into staying with him. The way she described her relationship with her ex is almost EXACTLY THE SAME AS how Annie describes hers with her ex-pimp in this video. It's scary.
@larsstougaard7097 Жыл бұрын

It's not even that uncommon and not limited to lower class either. I had a friend and a colleague that were in toxic relationships. It was so hard for them to break out of it because they actually care so much about the person abusing them. Even though they tried to cut them off from all other friends and family. As a woman who has survived domestic abuse, stories like this are important. I live in one or the largest human trafficking cities and crime like this is so common in a lot of major cities. You can't talk about it in public without getting judged. We even have areas you know to avoid at night or gas stations you can't go to by yourself for very long. Everyone wants to hide behind a screen not realizing this kind of crime is right in a lot of folks own cities. It gets hidden or under reported exactly because of the fear, guilt, and shame. There aren't enough free resources for people in poverty and for a lot of people, there aren't many safe ways to get out of those trenches. Especially if they are alone with no resources. People will be at risk even if they are just by themselves and fit someone's trafficking demographic. I have been stalked and attacked. I've had to yell in public to get someone to intervene when I've been followed. I've known someone who was kidnapped off the street and held in a house against her will while she was gang raped. I have known the lady who had someone get in her car at a stop sign and rob her at gun point. This stuff is so real and it's not just in Vegas.

They do that to everyone lol men and women first time I came to Vegas at 14 with my family I just saw the trucks with hoes when I came back like a month and so ago there was this Hispanic guy on the streets trying to hand them to anyone walking even families sometimes this is crazy

Years ago the sex flyers would be all over the ground, covering the sidewalks like a painting. Then Vegas banned them for a while but… they’re back.

Annie if you’re reading the comments, just wanted to tell you that what you’re doing is amazing and it’s beautiful to see God’s light shining through you. I’ll be praying for you, your husband, and the girls you are trying to help. ❤

That lady is absolutely class. The fact that she actually came out the other side of it, and healed is amazing. Shes been right there, and even though shes seen the worst, shes still out preaching that not all men are awful. If i were her id have a hard time believing that! Shes very smart, and very very strong.

Fear. Trauma bonding. Both so real. My ex was abusive in every way, yet I stayed 5 years. It's incredibly hard to escape/leave. One day a friend asked about bruises. Ones that she didn't accept my stories for. The next night, I packed 2 walmart bags. Thats all I had to start all over. It's 12 years later. My new husband is my soulmate. I have 2 beautiful sons. I always thought I'd end up dead in a ditch. I'm blessed. If you're reading this, and you are in an abusive relationship, know this- they will NEVER change. NEVER. Know you are worthy of love. You deserve to be happy. Start planning now. Grab what you can and run. I had no money, no family left, no car, its possible. Godspeed 💜

Wow, this one was heavy. I couldn’t help but think of all the thousands of women out there who sadly won’t make it out like Annie. I wish we could save them all and I hope Annie’s organization saves as many people as possible.

Annie seems like such a gem and its a horrible tragedy to have to see what she has had to deal with most of her life. I am glad she came out alright in the end and that she has this cause, she is a very genuine and heartwarming person. My prayers to her.

@ChaseCache you're crazy for saying this, you would be paranoid to if the things that happened in her life happened to you, what she is doing is preventing it from happening more. Are you saying she's crazy for trying to save people? Honestly disgusting

The amount of comments blaming her for all of this and calling her a “liar” is concerning. People just don’t like hearing things they dislike

@@gamingwithmndandlnd4952 you can tell theyre coping because let's say the 'same stuff happens to guys', would they still comment that under the man's story? why are they doing it for the girl then?
@gamingwithmndandlnd49527 ай бұрын
@@LDAR That’s some people. You shouldn’t just ignore the incident and change it to something else. And I’m pretty sure they would if the same thing happens to men. And if you wanna get statistical most men don’t report r*pee and other crimes like that because society unfortunately deems it embarrassing for guys or some people would be like wouldn’t you wanna get that and type stuff. It’s just annoying to change the topic when something bad happened because it seems like you just care about the s**ism side of it and not the actual victim.
