My theory is that incest happens when a small group of people become isolated, not necessarily a kink.A small town with only a few families will become inbred over time. Notice as he travels the places get smaller and more rural. I don't think it's unique to Alabama, other parts of the world have plenty of it, look at Royalty.I noticed how friendly people were in general, especially for such personal questions.
@shannonschaerer1010
@shannonschaerer1010 9 ай бұрын
I agree that DOES happen because of isolation. That MAKES SENSE!! In alot of other countries, cousins marrying each other is more common & is not as taboo as it is in the US & Canada. I forget the # of Cousin marriages there are worldwide, but it's more than most people here may think!! I know people who are the children of such marriages, & there is nothing more wrong with them than anyone else I know. Physical & mental problems don't usually occur until it becomes more of a generational problem. But your point is very true, it does happen because of that reason.

I went on a date with a girl a few years ago who came from New Prague, MN. It's a relatively small town with about 8,000 people. She happened to assist kids with special needs which was noble. But she later told me that they were special needs because of incest, usually 3rd or 4th cousins. Apparently people there just don't bother to leave the town to find someone else. That was wild to me. EDIT: Jesus Christ this blew up. I heard this like three years ago. I didn't look any further into this after that. I'm getting notifications about this comment like every week.
@Unknown_Ooh
@Unknown_Ooh 8 ай бұрын
It's really not that wild to think about. Most small middle of nowhere towns aren't that wealthy which means its citizens aren't wealthy and typically under-educated so what options are really that viable for them to travel just to find love? I'm far against incest but it's just one of the ripple effects of the economical issues in their area.
@josephwheeler1
@josephwheeler1 8 ай бұрын
I would be unwilling to be in a relationship with somebody who is my third or fourth cousin genetically speaking that's pretty far. They probably share virtually no genes that far away unless the whole town is that related.
@elgee6202
@elgee6202 8 ай бұрын
That's nonsense. Third and fourth cousins are so distantly related that they barely share any DNA (less than 1%) and at the fourth cousin level it's fairly likely not to share DNA at all. Most people don't even know who their third and fourth cousins are. My mum doesn't know any of her second cousins apart from one or two. At that level there'd be no higher risk of genetic defects than there would in the wider population between two unrelated people. Even the products of a first cousin marriage are unlikely to have defects, which is why such relationships are legal in most places. First cousin relationships only become problematic when there are multiple generations of it, for instance if your parents are first cousins and their parents are first cousins.

That's been proven untrue. Hate to be the bearer of FACTS. But that's completely wrong. Sister and brother can have children just fine. If the DNA code is going to have a break to cause any birth, idk even how to say this with out grabbing the whole study and pasting it. When I moved to Tennessee I did the research because I once thought the same. Also if you look at how the royal's rarely add new blood to their bloodlines to keep their dynasties and monarchies. They have been keeping in the family just about as long as before Jesus was sent to Earth thousands of years ago. Starting with Eve coming from Adams own rib cage. But truly do your due diligence and the studies sadly prove more than not they will have unaffected babies.

Moved to live with my dad when I was 14. Had never met him. At a big party and this really pretty set of twins is hitting on me. So, I'm holding both their hands and popping wood like I think I know what I'm doing. My dad yells over and I go to him. "I see you've met your cousins?" ----- Not going to lie, tugged one out to them later. Then found out about 20 years later, not related. My dad was just being an asshole.

he should go into inner cities where there is basically a 100% probability that every black person has committed incest. thats what happens when 10 men who have 15 kids by 15 women, none of them knowing the father, have children that grow up and plow like rabbits, not knowing who their half siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and fathers are. and thats just the unknown(to them) incest; though it is still a widely known/intentional occurrence as well. like i said; a statistical certainty lol.

My parents are first cousins, I think this is something that they are still really ashamed to admit to me. I knew it because I overheard them talking to a pastor many years back when I was a teenager, but I don’t even think they knew that I know. Safe to say, family gatherings are awkward, especially since my grandparents from my dad’s side showed apparent displeasure about my dad’s choice of spouse. The topic of how my parents met is pretty much taboo in our house, they kept it as they met in uni (they indeed went to the same uni), instead of telling us that they met as kids. One of the aunt mentioned it to me but I pretended not to listen and went away. I am not sure what kind of response she wanted from me. But I didn’t give it to her I guess. Fast forward, uni time, I moved out thousands of kilometres away from my hometown. I am so glad I don’t have to go to family gatherings anymore and in my new environment, I can be whoever I want. :)
