I used to absolutely suck at writing bass lines, but following your musical journey has made me significantly better at trusting that bass instruments can rip and shred just as hard as instruments typically considered more "melody." I had a friend who was a bass player, looked almost EXACTLY like you, Charles, and was a lifelong fan of LP. He took his own life at some point, not long after Chester did. When you started playing In the End and Mike interrupted you, my heart sank for a split second. But Mike is the real deal. You can tell he's walked the walk because he could just sit in his house and mooch off his millions, but he's still working, still making kick ass music, and more importantly, he's pulled down the ladder for younger artists to climb up with him, there's not a lot of world famous musicians doing that! Mike is the man!

Awesome!!!! This reminds me of a story I read where Tim 'Herb' Alexander of Primus got to sit in with Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson of Rush to do a sound check. Primus was touring with Rush, at the time. Anyway, Neil Peart wasn't there and 'Herb' sat in and they played "Roll the Bones" I think. While playing the song, Neil Peart arrives and sees 'Herb' playing "his" song on "his" kit! "Herb" got to be in Rush for a song! :) lol Thanks for posting!!!!
