I almost spit my tea out when you said you forgot to hit record! 😂 Yeah, that heat was terrible first half of August, and I know y'all aren't used to those temperatures. Here in North Texas, we hit a high one day of 118°F/47.7c, and had a hen die from heat exhaustion. Our coop & nest boxes are in deep shade, but I put up a big fan to at least keep the air moving, and give them a little relief while laying, and at night. Oh, and a paddle pool for the chickens, too. Lol, so cute to see them enjoying standing in about 3 inches of cool water that I shoved in between the hedges. They love it!

@@mandypaul7263 thank you. They are so cute standing in their pool. 💕 They look like little ladies wearing big poofy dresses, and they're hiking up their skirts to keep them from getting wet. One in particular spends a good 6 or 7 hours in there every day! We call it "The Lagoon" lol.

That heifer will be picking locks in her new farm. 😁 I have a heifer here that will unhook the electric fence even when it's on. She will catch the insulated handle in her mouth and drop it to the ground. I have her on video doing it.

Trees are very important for shelter, the numpties in the Dept of Agric don't understand that looking at the satellite photos sitting in their cosy offices, they think the land is shaded and scrub land where the trees are. They don't understand that livestock need shelter and there's growth underneath the trees too.

That cow who feeds herself in the parlour is hilarious! No different to horses working out how to open stable doors, some learn how to untie their lead ropes when tied up. You can workout a million different ways to try to solve a mischief maker but when you’re running a business, selling them is sometimes the best option.

My brother in law had an Illawarra cow that learned to manipulate the lever which gave her extra feed on a new system. Interestingly she did not learn it until she was on her 5th lactation but then got the new system sorted out quick smart. The fix though, was easy

Wow that's funny because I thought I saw the only cow that did this with the feeder cords. It's amazing how they know not to bite the thin cords but instead use their tounge. What I saw as a solution was to put planks of timber over the cow barrier under the cords.

The shade is essential, but the back coat has no impact on it how the animals do in the hear. If you think, sure Wildebeests, Elephants and all sorts of other animals in warm climates have dark/black coats, including water buffalo. It's just not how it works. Yes dark colours absorb light (and therefore heat) quicker, but it also gets rid of heat quicker too

Hi Adrian, Yes non recording on the drone, Must be a DJI, I have flown various Parrots over the last 5 years and now also have the DJI, but like that sometimes forgot to record. We had a cow that had to go into the parlour last…. Which was fine! Problem was we had a big collection yard and the cow that went in last wasn’t very good a seeing there were other cows in the yard.
