A busy few days… finally sprung for a paint sprayer!

Here’s the granola recipe I mentioned…

A couple of notes: I don’t add the brown sugar. And I do add lots of cinnamon and cardamom. Hey, I’m a cardamom girl!

My husband is a professional painter, and since he used sprayers I asked him how he cleaned them. If you used latex paint you run water through them. Sometimes you have to clean the filters also. If you're using oil paint you run paint thinner through. Lacquer paint, use lacquer thinner. Hope that helps. Janice from Arkansas USA

Mouchoir is hankechief in English. The table is named like that because its folded like a hankechief. The seller knows you are a foreigner that wants to buy! Take care. The barley is just wheat if it says ble. Pecans are real expensive in Europe and there is not really a substitute for them.

You crack me up, “ I hope that was super compelling “😅! Those prices were a bit nuts. If you have a French friend, maybe they could go in and see if they are told the same prices. It’s only natural for a dealer to use every advantage they have lol!

It was interesting that the seller kept saying "300" for each item. I think Abby might need someone to help her haggle - not something we Americans are used to, but a way of life in many countries.

LOL! you are not alone in not wanting to haggle.. but maybe a single question might suffice: "is that your best price?" the fact that he is throwing you a freebie means he made a good sale from you!

I watch How To Renovate A Chateau here on KZbin and Phillip showed auction websites this past weekend on how they furnish their chateau inexpensively. He said they also deliver. I thought of you while watching it because I know your furnishing your place. Perhaps you should watch that video. They are also in France. And quite a wonderful couple. I imagine you could pick up so many tips from them. Good Luck.

Yes, that Brocante is terribly overpriced. You would fare much better at auction! The oil jars were almost certainly bought in a lot - he probably paid less than 2000 for all of them together! 😅

You can make new terracotta pots look aged using plain yogurt! Simply stir the yogurt and dip your foam brush into it, brushing to coat the surface of the pot; covering it completely. Then set your pots aside in a shaded place until they achieve the desired look, at least one month. A lot less expensive than the overly priced pots at that brocante! He totally sees you coming and jacks up his prices. Go somewhere else and haggle.

Really nice desk. I think you made a wise choice although I was loving that more expensive one, too. The round low table is so sweet and I'm sure you'll find it useful as the coffee table and one benefit is with no right angles, less banged shins. It's definitely more of a delicate design which is cohesive with the pieces it is staged with in this vlog. The desktop leather is replaceable if that seems necessary but a nice glass or marble top are also options. You could oversize the length to extend the top size and consider edges are beveled and/or rounded. My 48" round breakfast table has a round thick beveled glass top that is 52". The table is black and the glass is thick and it works for me. So much to get excited about I agree. Get yourself a painter's/baseball hat to protect your hair. I hope you find a nice hair salon to treat yourself after many long days of hard work. You deserve some very special hours of self refreshing at least once a week.

I spray ceilings, then primer and paint on all the trim. Tend to roll the walls because at that poin I have enamel paint sprayed onto the wall around the trim which makes a great surface to cut in with a good brush. The finish you get with primer and trim paint sprayed cannot be achieved with a brush. Love all the detail in the room.

Good job with the painting. Just a little tip about painting the big door with all those glass panes - don't bother trying to tape all the glass off - it will drive you nuts trying to be precise and it's too time consuming. Just get yourself a very good "sash brush" with the angled end and paint the mullions by hand as carefully as possible. It will go much quicker and if you happen to get some on the glass (which you will) don't panic. Let it dry and remove it later with a flat edged glass scraper made specifically for the job.

I think the design is the Green Man. He symbolizes nature. The Green Man was a very popular design hundreds of years ago in England. There are Green Men even in old churches and cathedrals, which has always seemed a bit odd to me as he is certainly not a Christian symbol, but certainly a countryside tradition. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_Man

I'm inspired to search for some sprayer cleaning videos. I've had a very nice one I bought 30 yrs ago, but found cleaning it such a nightmare I've let it sit since the original project was finished. I tried to pawn it off on my daughter, but after my cleaning instructions she elected to hire her job out to a pro.
