Iain Murray is definitely a gift to the church. I have read the two volume of D. Martyn Lloyd Jones and recently, Evangelicals Divided. I refer back to them at times. It has made me understand the times I have lived and live in. Makes me thankful for God's grace in my life.

Such a blessing to speak about Lord Jesus Christ in places where no one would go, or is frightening, but with God protection nothing will happen bad. Through hardships and struggle we know better how much Lord Jesus Christ loves us. Even if the persectution and even i may be killed of persecutions, i know that Lord Jesus Christ waits on the other side. Don't stop preaching, don't stop Loving, and stating Truth in Love according to the Holy THE MOST POWERFUL WORD OF GOD - BIBLE. Psalms 23: "4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me." Lord Jesus Christ will never let us go, fully Trust in Him, because God is Faithful. Hebrews 13: "5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee."

Paul Washer does not need to devote himself to preaching, He needs to devote Himself to God alone... and not the God of these conferences of dead men... truly I love this man, he has been as a father to me.

I think he would agree with you. Preaching is the outflowing of that desire for God. But obviously I'm sure he would prioritize his relationship with God over anything he does.

What is important in this exchange is at 1:20, where Washer says, "I was very tired... all these conferences and all these words... but does it even matter?" Calvinist doctrine leads to such feelings because the determinist thinks no one can choose Christ -- that they are selected for salvation before they are even born. And the lost likewise, with no ability to choose contrary to the will of God. Calvinism is a Gnostic lie and contradicts Revelation 21:6, "let him that is athirst come, and drink of the water of life freely." Jesus died for everyone, not just the Elect.

Paul Washer is pietistic. It is not surprising he was tired. It is the love of Christ that bring people to Repentance! People know the law it is written in their hearts, now give them Christ! Ten parts law will make for a weary Christian, 1 part law and 9 parts Christ will make a resting and thankful Christ and full of love for Christ!
