Honestly the government needs to ban and criminalize these predatory criminal insurance companies. Take an extra $300 per year from every US citizen and give it to FEMA.

If everyone else is ok, then she should be too! This stupid law/ordinance needs to be taken off the books! Enough government interference with people's lives!

I imagine people thoroughly assess the risks before moving to an environmentally unstable place like Florida. I mean no one ever thinks it will happen to them...until it does. But people still know tthe risks. Im sorry for what they r going through as an ultimate tesult of their decision to move or stay there. I do hope they r made whole.

Even with the best risk analysis which I'm sure this lady did things can easily turn sour. I believe Florida has the highest cost for property insurance in the United States. But with the best homeowners insurance insurance companies still deny 46 to 51% of claims especially during a hurricane tornado or earthquake tragedy. It's really criminal the way the insurance companies are allowed to behave.

@1evilsprout for me the solution is simple, don't live in florida.

@@nataliesharif2167 not living in Florida will only reduce your insurance payments It will not change the predatory practices that insurance companies use on homeowners looking to ensure their home and the people that visit them. The problem is not Florida It's the 51% denial rate of insurance companies.

for one most the wood in the home still looks new if they due take it down if they take there time and due it right they could cut coasts by using some the wood from the home it will take longer to take it down but you would be able to reuse some the wood support beam's in the home in the new houses I would dig 6 to 8 feet down and put 8 to 12 pills in the ground and then have the pills on out the ground around 6 feet above ground level then build your home on top of that and you should use's wood pills cover them in concrete in the ground and as you go up that will help protect the wood pills and if any boats in the future hit them pills from flood waters then the concrete may fall off but the wood would be safe and keep the home from falling over and then you can just patch it with a bite of concrete to fix it. it would save money.
