Breaking out the OT! Love it! If you’re not familiar with the old hymn, “He Hideth My Soul”, you must find it. He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock, That shadows a dry, thirsty land;
He hideth my life in the depths of His love,
And covers me there with His hand,

Hey Chynna, maybe it's not a good idea to air out problems in relationship right now. For public consumption. I've been praying for you both. Hopefully one day soon, you two will minister to others. Not criticizing you. Chynna, are you familiar with spiritual warfare? Did you find a good church meeting?

You don't always have to "get your point across". That is a controlling maneuver and sometimes you need to just be still, be quiet.. and learn patience. Listen to him; really hear him. Billy is your husband, not a child. He doesn't need to be "taught". He's a smart man; he knows you by now.. and your beliefs.. sometimes you can reach him further by his observing you living your faith, not preaching it to him. Peace.

Why can't both of you say to each other, "I'm sorry I hurt you." It doesn't accuse the other of purposely hurting you, but it acknowledges that you each value your relationship over trying to prove who's right or wrong. Blessings 💗

You ALWAYS come to the right conclusion. Giving up control. Excellent. In 1994 I was in my second year in the fellowship and a retired Cleveland Policeman said something I will never forget from the podium. He said, " Faith isn't faith until it's all you have left. Then it becomes faith" .

I can see how that works well for 2 healthy people in a relationship BUT when 1 is a taker or a narcissist (abusive emotionally) they cannot listen to understand and agreement is required. It makes for constant unrest no peace at all. And God calls us to live in peace with each other ❤ Yes! Talking about it right away is the right thing to do!

I remember once arguing with my husband and it was just getting ready to lose it, instead I went into the living room when I opened up the Bible Wallah words of wisdom. I prayed one back in the room and we were able to resolve it immediately. Yesterday A friend of mine misunderstood something I had said and got angry I tried to explain but he stormed off. I wanted to call a friend and complain complain complain but instead I called a friend and prayed and prayed and prayed. Within 10 minutes he came back and he said when he sat down something in his heart was so overwhelming that he had to come back to apologize. This is absolutely huge because this person has frontal lobe damage and bursts of anger, but issue. His normal MO would be not to talk to somebody for a while afterwards. This is a true miracle of God

I wish I could apologize to my husband, but he past three years ago he died unexpectedly. God is always testing us his purpose is to prove that our faith is real. Even though I’m struggling I will keep faith, Since covid I fell on a terrible hardship. I lost my job for declining the vaccine. I declined due to my health conditions. I suffer from lupus, and heart disease. I’m now waitressing but not making nearly enough to get by. I’m a single mom, my husband died suddenly years ago. I’m all alone. My children are autistic and non verbal, I’m overwhelmed. I recently started homeschooling them because they were having so many issues in school including bullying. Please pray for me. I’m struggling to pay rent, struggling to buying groceries, struggling to afford the tools I need to homeschool my sons. I WANT TO GIVE UP! But I TRUST in you JESUS. Even as I struggle providing for my children. I will keep faith in God. Faith over fear. Lord hear my prayers. I don’t understand why I’m going through this hardship for so long but I trust you LORD!

I read a book years ago, "Peace Maker" by Ken Sande. It was very helpful. Whenever you have a conflict, there is something wrong on both sides. A person can't argue by themself. So, even if it is tone of voice, or the way you communicate what you are trying to express....it could be a small peace. Sometimes, it helps to say sorry for your part. But, it takes a lot to get. So so hard. It takes Jesus to strengthen you through it, again and again.

Chynna this sounds exactly like a conversation my husband Josh and I had about a month ago!! I would be hurt by something he said or did but he wouldn't apologize. I couldn't understand why he didn't care that he hurt me!! Finally, after A LOT of talking and figuring out each other we came to the conclusion that what each of us needed was to empathize with how the other was feeling....exactly what you guys came to!:) Although for us we realized that we didn't need to say sorry to show empathy, but hear each other out and respond. We definitely apologize to each other when we are unkind and we know our heart was wrong. 19 years of marriage and still so much to work on!! :) Hon I'll be honest it sounds like you guys do have a good marriage, Billy loves you, is faithful and supports your ministry. I know my expectations are high and don't always, if ever, reach where I want them to be with my marriage. I pray for you both. Sorry this is so long! :) ❤️

Chynna making berry pies reminds me of the old folk song "Billy Boy": "Can she bake a cherry pie, Billy boy, Billy Boy? Can she bake a cherry pie, Charming Billy?" 😍🎶🎶 [FULL LYRICS]: Oh, where have you been, Billy Boy, Billy Boy, Oh, where have you been, charming Billy? I have been to seek a wife, she's the joy of my life, She's a young thing and cannot leave her mother. Did she ask you to come in, Billy Boy, Billy Boy, Did she ask you to come in, charming Billy? Yes, she asked me to come in, there's a dimple in her chin. She's a young thing and cannot leave her mother. Did she set for you a chair, Billy Boy, Billy Boy, did she set for you a chair,Charming Billy. Yes, she set for me a chair, there are ringlets in her hair, she's a young thing and cannot leave her mother. Can she make a cherry pie, Billy Boy, Billy Boy, Can she make a cherry pie, charming Billy? She can make a cherry pie, quick as a cat can wink an eye, She's a young thing and cannot leave her mother. How old is she, Billy Boy, Billy Boy, How old is she, charming Billy? Three times six and four times seven, twenty-eight and eleven, She's a young thing and cannot leave her mother. source: www.lyricsondemand.com/miscellaneouslyrics/childsongslyrics/billyboylyrics.html

When in an argument, think like it's a war with bombs and weapons. Your point is irrelevant. Peace is all that matters. Peace at all costs. It's all about ego. Shed that robe. The only time this advice doesn't work is when you are being manipulated or emotionally abused. Then just get out. Years ago I learned from one of the old time motivational speakers (perhaps Brian Tracy) about apologizing and shedding your ego. Best Life Lesson ever. Don't expect anyone else to change. If they decide to change it will have nothing to do with you. It's the Human Conundrum. Embrace it, take a deep breath, Praise Jesus, and move forward.

Ahh, marriage…wow not for cowards. I’ve been with my high school sweetheart since 1977. We’ve been married since 1979. I have never loved a human being so much, or hated a human being so much! You come to a place in your walk with Christ when you realize He is your husband…best friend. The most tender intimate conversations have been with Jesus. He is the treasure in my heart. I love my husband, but he doesn’t hold a candle to the Lord. The Lord knows my secrets…handles them like a delicate fragile flower in his hand. My husband like myself are fallen beings. We love with a imperfect love. We love each other to the best of our human ability. I couldn’t imagine life without my husband, but at the same time there has been lonely times when all I had was the Lord. Remember to look what you are longing for in Him not him.❤❤

When i was bridging stage 3 to endstage 4, (liver) 2003. Closed my business, the only treatment available made me go blind, lose my hair & mind, loss my T&A, skin n bones, ultimately stopping the only experimental treatment available, i was preparing myself to go home to my Lord! I confessed all my sins and asked God to forgive me, 🙏🏼 he told me that I had unforgiveness in my heart 💗 in order to be forgiven I needed to forgive others! which started an inward journey. I lived so sick for the next 10 yrs , a NEW treatment came out 2015 I was cured!! my liver is regenerating, healing n renewing. Forgiveness is for us more then the other person, unforgiveness rot's our inner! Even though we do not reach our perfected glorified body until we're home with the Lord! God always looks at us and sees completed perfection in US! Take off the mask people! No matter how perfect we may think we are we are NOT! as long as we are here, there is always room for improvement. That's ok! Keep trying! We are here to serve God and others, not our flesh with sin (worldly pleasures.) The answers are in the Bible! God's living word will speak to each of us individually, personally, when we read it! Never Give Up bc our Lord Never gives up on us! It's us that turn our backs on him, and he lets us bc he gives us free will. The best thing about being brought to our knees is being retrieved, reconciled and renewed! Peace of Christ 😂😂🎉

My son and I have the opposite problem, we rush to say I'm sorry or thank you. This does not make things any better. It means I don't want to offend you ever and I don't want you mad at me. Like with the fear of offending God, is that the same as being afraid of offending or hurting my son? I never want to hurt him, he does not want to hurt me, either, but we want to know each other and love each other. Are we really doing that when we hide behind an, "I'm sorry," when we really mean, an I'm afraid.

It's probably a mixture of all three. Over 35 years we learnt to say sorry, especially my husband- even if not his fault - Since his passing 18mths ago, enjoy your family, let the small things go, laugh at issues,. Your last part is correct- don't say it, not worth it. The evil one doesn't want you & Billy to make it, stand firm. Enjoy your life. 😊

I have experienced it is important to invite Holy Spirit into the space in our heart where we are resisting the process of asking or giving forgiveness and receiving total forgiveness. He often shows us that there is deeper a thread leading to to real issue causing that resistance. That is the actual powerful part of confession where when we agree with God in our confession HE shows us His Truth of the whole picture. His presence in the process then releases us internally and emotionally to receive HIS forgiveness and ultimate Healing which then empowers us by HIS strength to truly forgive and experience total freedom from the painful briers. Religion is doing God’s commandments in human strength. Relationship with Jesus is encountering Him personally as our GREAT Shepherd and lover of our soul who truly counsels us as His precious children and takes us so much deeper into Him. Only He truly satisfies our souls … our Living Water- He IS absolutely more than enough for us 🙌🏻 Shalom 💕💖💕🙌🏻💕💖💕

I once heard a lady preacher talk about her relationship with her husband- instead of having an opinion(which I battle with continually) always she would take her husband to Jesus and say” Lord, he’s yours before he’s mine, please deal with him.I open my heart now for you to deal with me.” It humbles our hearts and allows us to relinquish control. Bless you Chynna and Billy.

Pastor Jack Hayford said in the 80s I think, when Anna and I got married, two rough edges people had to become one...Then he rubbed his hands together and said, the sandpaper wasn't very comfortable but we became JackAnna, from Jack and Anna. I love when you talk your thoughts to us.

I've been married 45 years. Marriage is like the ocean. Tide comes in; tide goes out. It's the walking through while the tide is out. The only difference is the ocean and Marriage, the coming and going of the tides is not hourly. Sometimes the tide go out for a long time. It seems when that tide does come in, it's brief. Not giving up while the tide is out is key. Appreciate your openness, Chynna. ❤

Always enjoy what you are sharing, Chynna! I well remember going through menopause ~ I had extreme anxiety during that time. I think we are all struggling a lot with so many things. My husband and I have been trying to both apologize when we are having a conflict and praying together is making such a difference in our relationship, overall. Jesus is truly our peace. Life is too short, like you said, we need to try harder to communicate and share our faith as a couple. Jesus ways make sense and the only way we can have God's best.

i feel the same way about apologizing. I think that “ I didn’t do anything wrong” but of course i’m not perfect so apologizing even if you think you haven’t done anything wrong taking the high road is always the best:)

How about: " I love you..and I'm sorry "we're' 'struggling' right now..Let's just keep trying to do better, 'together'..." >>> "WE" messaging..with "mutual goal" of doing better, "TOGETHER" .. :>) :>).. No blame, No shame..Just 'mutual' concern, teamwork, and moving forward..

I love, love that kitchen! I know a few that don't apologize. I, at this point in my life, don't care. I just don't. Life is hard enough.

My husband stopped coming to church with me and rarely prays with me and it's very important... the 2 of u are so much closer have u tried the whisper sorry or argument u place cheek to cheek and instead if yelling etc you whisper outloud......then either laugh cry or lovies n apologize n be so ok compared to the old ways ❤
