Les Stroud (Survivorman) always said, and Mors Kochanski too, that moose in rutting season are just straight up nuts compared to any type of bear. I have read outdoor books since I was a kid. Everyone says it. Not your or your dog's fault. Have a question or two. Are they easier or harder to drop then a bear? Also, is the meat like elk or deer? I've not had moose yet. How far did the slug travel through it? Can the natives at least get the meat? Any which way, you don't waste meat I know in AK. Wolves and bear need meat too. Everyone has to eat! Even small animals and Eagles will consume it in a few days to a week! Lastly, does the officer have to put the young one down or are you allowed to with his okay? Just glad YOU are safe. Animals aren't as important as humans are. YOU count far more than a darn moose. New here and loving your videos! Hope you are doing okay! Happy seasons and new year from Iowa!

The head shot stopped the charge but she did not go down right away. @Robert.Northwoods2 жыл бұрын
Good that nothing happened to you...but on the other hand it was completely your fault. And because of that you killed or at least you were the reason that two animals were killed. I live on the same environment as you. No one is allowed here to carry a hand gun also no one is allowed to let their hunting dogs or dogs over all roaming around the house without any supervision. Your dog did what he was breeded for. Again without any supervision. That is completely stupid and irresponsible. I would charge you a fine for that. But as the name of the channel is showing somehow your mindset it doesn't make any sense to discuss this with you. The one thing you should have learned out of that is to behave responsible and care about your environment. Like a few million people do as well living in a similar region with similar threads and wildlife. You should donate at least the meat.
@gunsgearoutdoorsalaska58752 жыл бұрын
Sounds like a sad country if you can't have a dog in your yard on an invisible fence. You do not understand the circumstances or context surrounding what happened here. Meat from animals killed in defense of life and property are given to charities or the roadkill list.
@Robert.Northwoods2 жыл бұрын
@@gunsgearoutdoorsalaska5875 I just know the context you was giving....again, your fault. How long you are living there? I guess long enough that you should know that cow and calves are wandering around especially in winter to find food. You also may know that a cow will protect the calve. With all that knowledge in mind, you are too lazy to walk with your dog or supervise him properly. You were attacked by this animal because your behaviour wasn't proper and you are too lazy to walk your dog. If the meat is donated by law that is good. I would assume otherwise you would put it your freezer without thinking about a kind act. When it comes to sad countries....we aren't sad. We just know how to behave properly and we don't use invisible fence....you know the problem which such a fence is that your dog learned through pain not leave. No wild creature knows that. First you are teaching your dog through pain and second of you don't understand that if you bring it down to one point it was your fault. Stating then I'm coming from a sad country....because XYZ....what are a f***ing racist or nazi?
@minfamilie43192 жыл бұрын
A Swede trying to lecture about manners and control. Oh, the irony...! I live in a small town in Norway. You know very well that if a moose charges at you there is very little time to react. Yes you don't carry guns, that doesn't make you better than anybody. It only makes you defenseless. So ta deg en bolle Lars, Gunnar or whatever your name is and if you love nature so much go hug a tree.
