Just to clarify the water didn’t get in the engine because it was too deep it was because I sent it too fast and the water came up in the engine bay. If you drive like a normal person that amount of water will never do anything to your engine.

Whoa! Sorry to watch the death of your Jeep, man. I was on that road with my Willys this past weekend. That puddle was deepest right where you were headed, on the right side. Like the other guys, I kept left. Further down it was in some ways worse. Thicker mud, deeper ruts. The ground was still pretty frozen under the water so that saved you from sinking deeper too. What a shame. Fix 'er if ya can. TJ's are still going for over 5K right now at their cheapest on Autotrader. I was actually thinking of messaging you soon to see if I could join you guys one weekend. I've only been "off roading" on that road. Everyone seems to keep trails around here a secret, other than Gan. Forest. Good luck with whichever option you choose, bro. Jay.

Man, your attitude is great. Sometimes shit happens, but you can't get it get you down. This is why i watch everyone of your videos. reminds me of when the back window broke. You kept cool and didn't let it ruin your day. I love the TJ content, so I'm looking forward to the next video where we find out the fate of Big Bird. I think it would be easiest to find a replacement 4.0, but wouldn't mind following your journey on an engine swap to an LS or a diesel

yeah here is a good lesson for everyone. you go slow and steady through a water hole. you do not full send through a lake that is never a good idea. additionally when you hydro an engine your first move is to pull the spark plugs out so the liquid can escape before attempting to crank the engine over. the engine may have been salvageable but then dragging the jeep down the trail to try and bump start it caused the connecting rods to snap and tear up your oil pan (notice there is no oil trail leading down to where the jeep came to rest. the oil is all under the jeep after it stopped from the bump start attempt)
@SmokinMonkeyOG Жыл бұрын
You are correct. Learn from my mistakes lol however I knew that I had some water in the intake and I’ve had that happen tons of times and it always starts so I guess I made a misjudgement this time around. Either way I gotta learn from what happen and keep going, this time with a snorkel lol

You just also have to think about tying all your breather lines into whatever filter box your snorkel comes with. Otherwise your diffs, trans, etc will get still get mudwater in them. I forget if you have manual or auto.
