Number one rule, don't take the suit off, ever, the bees inside the suit can only sting once but taking your suit off is a recipe for trouble. Leave a hive queenless for several days before putting a new queen in and make sure to remove any emergency cells that the bees will have made

I watched 2 videos of this guy and this is what I've learned: He almost accidentally killed a queen and the worker bees had to revive her. He accidentally squished the eggs out of another queen. He deliberately killed a queen to replace her with a new one, just to have himself stung and the new queen killed. Obviously people do improve, so don't take this as a stab. Looking forward to seeing you grow with your hives. Also hope you develop better relationships with queens😂

The queen died of starvation, needlessly. He didn't know why the end of the box was wood ....but didn't bother to contact the company and ask. He completely ignored the sugar container taped inside the box too. They also didn't seem to know that you shouldn't put the new queen into the hive for at least a day so the colony understands that they are without a queen and thus accept a new one. Leaving her in that box for 3 days without checking wasn't good either. These may be bugs but are still live creatures, taking the time to look into what to expect and even ask questions is so important.

Hey Jake, you should really go back in and remove those queen cells. They most likely are from brood of the old queen, and if they hatch then the first thing they will do is try and kill your new queen. Also as others have mentioned, 1:1 simple syrup spray can help pacify some bees and has the added benefit of harmlessly grounding them temporarily. Don't want all your effort (and pain) to be for nothing!

I believe criticism is helpful, with that being said this is meant as some possible advice. If they are already aggressive don’t take your suit of because a couple beers in your suit can only sting you a couple times. You take your suit off and a lot of bees can sting you a lot of times

Just a few tips from an Africanized Beekeeper . 1. When bees get inside your veil...NEVER take that veil off until you are in a controlled environment eg. enclosed vehicle. Bees usually try to get out of the veil as soon as they get in so it is easy to just squash them before they can cause any damage. 2. It is not advisable to attempt introducing a new queen to such a "vigorous" hive so soon... more than likely those bees will consider that new queen inferior and kill her. In future, give them some time (a few days) to appreciate that they are queenless then attempt introducing the new queen...also there are signs to look for to determine the likelihood of acceptance. rest the queen cage on top of the frame and observe their behavior...if they're feeding her and gently surrounding her, there is a high chance of acceptance. If however they are aggressively clustering and visibly trying to sting her she will not be accepted. Oh and dispatch the emergency queen cells they would have made before introducing the new queen.

You know a good way to naturally seal the jars would be to leave half an inch from the top empty, pour carefully some of the melted wax on top of the honey, then when its cooled off completely, dip the entire top of the jar into the melted wax creating a good firm, sanitary, antibacterial top for storrage
