My sister has been raising bees for several years & I forwarded this video to her because I’m sure she’s gonna want to do this latest beehive as well. She has grandchildren that will enjoy being able to watch the bees especially if you can see the queen actually laid eggs, to me that was AMAZING!!
@someoneelse4925

If your sister lives in north America then she has been contributing to the death of our ecosystem for years! Honey bees are actually native to Eurasia, and are horribly devastating to our ecosystem because they block out our native pollinators from food and are extremely good at spreading diseases between our native wild life. Honey is super profitable and that's why there's so much campaigning around saving honey bees. what's more American than profit? Especially at the expense of our biodiversity

We bought this beehive from Ivry over a year ago. It is very easy to care for. The children and guests love being able to see inside without worrying about getting stung. The bees are very happy and even swarmed and split to form a second hive. We extracted some of the best honey I have ever tasted. Of course we left most for the bees. We are really enjoying our introduction to beekeeping through this hive, we are total novices.

A health food store in the town I grew up in in the 1970s had a see-through beehive. It was really cool as a kid. While mom shopped I always just stood there mesmerized. It had a clear pipe that went out through the wall that allowed the foraging bees egress / ingress.

We just ordered one of these because my kids love to watch bees whenever they see live hives and just on our flowers and in nature. My 4 yr old is so very excited about this because she loves bees and this will allow her to see the process. I hope once it gets established to let the grade schools come see it during earth science lessons. We need all the education about bees we can and this is such a cool thing to get kids involved and excited about bees and why we need them. Hope you post progress with yours.

I have made glass hives for over 30 years. I had 250 beehives before I found out I was so allergic to bees that probably my next basting will be fatal. But I have a very big garden and have thousands of bees all over the place so I'm not that worried. I actually have a glass hive in my garden now. But because of my allergic reaction to the bees I get someone else to actually extract them. But I love watching them. That's why I got a glass beehive. One thing if you have a glass Highview desperately need to thicknesses of glass because in winter it gets far too cold.

Lots of thin layers, but with the insulation and stain, I’m hoping that it will hold up over time. Standard Langstroth hives are cheap pine boxes, so not any thicker or durable and they will rot if not painted or stained as well - and they need covered in our winter weather, too.

A window to their bustling life, Amidst the blooms, midst buzz and strife, The world's first see-through hive did thrive, Intrigue and wonder, it'd derive. Love that hive! I would hav removed frames before shaking the bees in so they fall to the bottom otherwise the shaking infuritates them! The pale only stops dripping if you place it on a solid board so it can form a vacuum (its physics). You can lay pollen patties on top of the frames.
