The others have said your enthusiasm is contagious. As both a snow kiter and a water kiter, better on the snow than water I was impressed you got the twin tip to work I tried it a year ago and had very limited success in deep powder, I might try it again 😄

I think it worked only because of the fresh powder and boots. In straps this would not work as good… 😊🙌

Ben, we have many hard core Canadians who kite in similar conditions. We use neoprene socks to keep our feet (somewhat) warmer in boots and keep a cooler of warm/hot water on shore to dunk our hands into so they don't get cold. As always, inspirational content. Peace!

I love how stoked Ben is! The hot water thermos is Key. Pouring warm/hot water into your gloves and booties makes the "screaming barfies" go away much faster...just make sure it's not TOO hot or you'll boil your hands 🥵

I just got into wing foiling. I am learning end of season in PA. Water temp probably in the high 40s. I feel in with my full body 5mm. When it hit my face. Omg!!! My kids have it on video. You hear the deep UGH and me scrambling to get back up on board. At 53 years old, I was worried about having a heart attack in front of my daughters. So I hung up the season in PA. However, right this second in San Diego and meeting a guy to go efoiling. Water temp 65. I have my 3mm with me. I really enjoyed your video. I am having a blast using this 53 year old vehicle as much as I can. Advice to younger me-s wear the protective gear. Down time sucks, the gear reduces down time. I wrecked bad on the bamboo gtr on a day I wasn't going to screw around and the gear probably saved my life. I am so jealous of all the cool toys coming out. Awesome video!!!! I am trying to build an ice skate wake board rn. Bored in the snow. Pickup truck, rope, large heavy duty tarp and a bunch of buddies. Tie tarp to rope and drive around and last guy on tarp wins.

One thing that I found out about kiteboarding in Wisconsin as the water temperature is getting colder is that one needs to be careful not to allow one's hands to get too cold, since one needs to be able to land and flag out the kite, wrap up the lines, etc., and if one's hands are not working (due to the cold), that can make getting the kite ready to go in very difficult to do. (We have to drift launch and land from the lake, here.)

Ben, try do practice Wim Hoff exercises including ice-cold bath. Your hands and feet adapt quickly and you will feel no cold. Enhanced stamina is a nice "side-effect".

Sehr geil. Die schmerzen sind die schlimmsten. Passiert mir hier im Lake Ontario auch immer. Super Giel wie Du zwischen beiden hin und her kannst. Hier bauen die leider "snow barriers" neben dem See auf. Da kann man dann nicht boarden und noch dazu total schlecht den Kite dazwischen zu landen. Aber ich kann nicht meckern.

I have 5mm boots which seem to be fine, but I'm always struggling with gloves. Any recommendations. My 3mm are obviously too thin, but 5mm pinches off my blood flow and the pain ends up being the same as with 3mm. My guess is some kind of a mitt, but don't know what really works. @@TimberPlanners anything articulated/ pre curved. I don't recommend neil pryde... they fall apart and leak. But check dakine or any kyak mitts/gloves as they are made to hold a paddle. My surf mitts suck for kiting. 🇨🇦
