I wish people would stop saying "suffers from mental health". At best it is bad English, at worst it is just plain wrong. People do not suffer from "mental health" but they do suffer from mental I'll health. I can assure you of that having worked in the field for thirty years.

Any idea who she was on the telly to talk about? Herself? Or Robin...

Our politicians will still try and convince us "men dont have problems".... And that we still dont need equality with women and girls in regards a minister, a day in parliament, equal representation on the equalities committee etc..... We just need to "man up", and we'll be fine.
@colettegibson651610 ай бұрын
Men need to speak up more. I know men with serious issues but instead of seeking help/speaking to people, they take it out on their family. I'm sure, as well as less men dying, there would be less domestic abuse situations. Just a thought.....
@Mr_G_in_Alba10 ай бұрын
@@colettegibson6516 Men do speak up, mens charities also speak up on their behalf.... Unfortunately, they are easily dismissed by society and the political class. This was proven by Jess Phillips comment referred to above "men have no problems", so no need of help or equality. If the genders were reversed, and male politicians were to state "women should speak up", I suspect it would be called victim blaming. Nearly 40% of all DV and abuse victims in the UK are males now according to ONS..... It's not the gendered crime it was portrayed to be.... Men as victims wasn't an option, data wasn't collected, the male experience of the issue ignored.... Proving my point further.
@Mr_G_in_Alba10 ай бұрын
@@colettegibson6516 They do, and so do charities representing them. They are too easily dismissed. "Men have no problems" was the political comment and response made to men asking for help and equal treatment from our govt. Men seeking help would only reduce DVA by half at best, as almost 40% of all DVA victims are now males..... Another area men are all but ignored.

Women journalists on GB News have themselves perpetuated the nonsense that DV is almost always 'man bashes woman'.
@colettegibson651610 ай бұрын
@Mr_G_in_Alba so you don't think reducing DV by ½ is worth it!? From experience, I'm making these comments and it's entirely frustrating and tortuous being the recipient of one's anger and problems instead of him seeking and accepting professional help. I agree with you suicide in men is far too high but they have to take some of the responsibility and I dispute 40%of DV cases are perpetrated by females. 90% of females murdered are by a current or previous abusive partner, there are minimal males murdered by their partner.....

Amon is right there is no help for mental health…. The so called help is not fit for purpose and often makes you feel worse. I’m suffering with mental health problems and I can’t get any help even though I’ve tried and tried. I’m going to end up dead soon because I’ve had enough.
