Anyone whose been watching this show day 1 understands this scene. This wasn’t Liam turning his back on his roots or shaming them in anyway. Liam combined his roots with who he is at his core... a Gallagher.

What REALLY sucks is that he was adamant about being "black" at the beginning of this season, but apparently it just transitioned into 'whatever'. He thought that being around fellow Blacks would give him direction, but it turns out that he saw that [fellow] Blacks are no different of humans that can be screwed over [by him] than non-Blacks.

The worst part is that in the context of the show, he won’t get the same treatment as the rest of the Gallaghers. Most of the scams that the Gallaghers pull off only partially work because no one suspects them until it’s too late. Liam doesn’t realize yet that he doesn’t have that luxury. Someone will always be watching. There will always be some vigilant citizen watching him just in case. Yeah, he’s a Gallagher, but he’s also a young black man in America.
@lisatheboywonder67445 жыл бұрын
Or if you think about it Liam will pull of these scams within the black community cause black or white gallaghers are exploitative as hell and very selfish. Liam as a gallagher will use being a black gallagher to his advantage and exploit the hell out of the black community with scams and it may work cause he does not feel that connection to the black community being raised by a white family. And he would not be suspected because the black community you would not expect that blacks would exploit other black people cause you are suppose to build each other up, and support black businesses, education and promote positivity and success . And being black himself he knows he can exploit the ever loving shit out of that and not feel guilty cause he is a gallagher. He did it just now in this scene and no one suspected him of scamming cause ' he's a young black child trying to do something good.' He doesn't identify himself as black- yes he knows he is. But he doesn't identify with the black community he identifies himself as a gallagher that is why he says he knows who he is- and he will find a way to be exploitative as hell with it and he knows he already found his niche with it.

i really think liam was just waiting for Mavar to show his real intentions even when he didn't have any bad ones, liam as a gallagher wanted to believe mavar was shady. and honestly this scene hasn't suprised me, liam is a gallagher, he grew up in such a toxic environment, he never really had a good role model growing up and everyone in his life abandoned him so when Mavar came along he though nothing good of him and he really thought he would do the same and now this scene proves his point. It's like he's mind is really poisoned by his roots and the way he was raised, he really rejected the only person who tried to help him because he doesn't believe that people can be selfless. another thing i find really sad is the fact that liam is still pretty much a child and doesnt really have a parent figure in his life now that fiona is gone. debbie is too busy being a shitty person, lip has got it's own baby now, frank is just being frank and the only person who's trying to watch over him is V but even she gets busy with her own kids and Alibi. it really looks like he just kinda had to deal with everything by himself.

Honestly , That is not good at all . The whole family is self destructive besides Carl and Lip . I didn't add Fiona cause tbh she's just as messed up as her father . A love didn't work out and she became self destructive and over time got drunk and started doing drugs , Helped out with selling drugs and left drugs out around the kids . We see the good side of Fiona but honestly she's a self destructive person . Carl and Lip were the only sane ones.

Bitter Sweet what does all that have to do with this scene?

@@bittersweet6927 how can you argue that Lip isn't self destructive? The guy was gonna get a degree at one of the most prestigious institutions in the world and he drank his future away. By choice. Self-destruction is the key to being a Gallagher.
@bittersweet69275 жыл бұрын
@@Room142 , Lip had just lost his way a little and was stressed . Fions had already gotten his mentor back as an addict and the kid got into dtugs that Fiona left out cause she was irresponsible.

So, I'd been skipping around the later seasons watching a playlist of Ian and Mickey, but I wanted to backtrack because the person that Liam grew into was such a conscientious little cinnamon roll. Amusing to see he doesn't stray that far from the Gallagher tree.

Kinda thought little liam would rise above the scam Artist antics of his Gallegher Family..But that's the Hustler/Scam Artist influence he has seen and grew up with...It has affected him like all the other kids. .The Family either Scam or Hustle..Frank Scams for the most part....The kids at times got a Hustle going on...That comes from not having regularly involved parents...Big Sister Fiona raised those kids..Little Liam is a Little Hustler..

This scene is well done-multilayered and complex. At its core, it shows the effects of poor upbringing and neglect. Liam is not a bad person. He has consistently been portrayed as being kindhearted, book smart, and street savvy. But, after being raised in a household of scammers bankrupt in morals and ethics, he doesn't fully understand what it means to be an upstanding member of society. Does he know right from wrong? Theoretically, sure. But when you're swimming in a sea of shadiness, normalcy can perceived as abnormality. It's sad, really.
