What's nice is skills like drawing tend to store themselves like illicit memory, similar to riding a bike. So in essence, you'll always be able to come back to drawing and pick up right where you left off.

I really hope so, I’d love to jump back at some point!

Um, not really, unfortunately. Although you will remember the principles, you will lose the dexterity and muscle memory to produce drawings at the same quality. Drawing takes practice and dedication to maintain.

Hi Petr, I think you made great progress over the 30 days. As long as you show improvement each time that's wonderful. Really liked the Time Lapse on the 30th day, great ending. I must say I really liked your drawing of the Coffee Mugs and your Cones. I thought they turned out really great. On your 7th day of drawing was one of them a Sea Turtle? It looked similar to one so was just wondering. Don't be hard on yourself about the Tutorials. The whole idea is to learn so I think you did a great job on those drawings. The Beach scene on your 10th day is great as well.

Thanks Ben! I was going for a quick sketch of a bird but I’ll take a turtle as well 😂

yeah i don't think you learned how to draw , and you can't do it with 10 minutes a day it would be far simpler to do a 3 hour session every week .That's not to say that you haven't progressed far from it but still very naive to claim such a thing

Unfortunately 3 hour session is a luxury I can’t afford, I see what you’re saying but for me it is a progress and I wanted to capture realistic progress for a person who can’t spend hours on a hobby.

Trees!!! I remember when I started learning to draw a couple years ago finding the different softnesses of pencils so cool. And I especially love that you did this in just a few minutes a day; I've found that really helps me too. Next you'll have to try watercolor ☺️😎 I think having a photographer brain helps with things like drawing and painting, we find things like composition and where to put the shadows, and when perspective is off intrinsically obvious, which can also make it harder when your art isn't up to what your eye can see. Photography's easier in that way cause the perspective lines won't end up all off. And yeah, rivers are hard. Something one of my watercolor teachers (youtuber I follow :)) said was it's a landscape...it's horizontal...rivers are horizontal not vertical use horizontal stokes. That made them easier, but they're still hard. A lot of my rivers still end up looking like they go straight up into the air lol. Yours in the last one looks good, it'd be cool to try it again sometime and connect the bottom to the top of the image by having the river go through the mountains. You might also enjoy trying out Caran D'Ache Neocolor II (the II is water soluble, they're artist's pastels/crayons, or that same brand makes watercolor pencils). The Van Gogh pocket box would be an inexpensive but good quality way to start trying out watercolor, and it's travel friendly. :)

Thanks for the tips! I have to try the river again and revisit the drawing at some point. And those pastels look very interesting! Would be cool to introduce some colors :)
