I am from Yorkshire and as a child we had a range that my mum would cook our stews in. They would go in the oven first thing in the morning, i would come home from school to the aroma of our evening meal making my tummy rumble. The whole house was filled with that smell.😊 🥰🇬🇧

Red wine for sure! The house will smell amazing as the stew cooks! I'd have added the potatoes after the carrots had cooked a bit because they cook more quickly than the carrots. Also I find the stew on too high a heat.

Use red potatoes and never worry about overcooking them, trust me, I make a traditional dish that is in the oven for 17hrs and I only dare use red potatoes, happy cooking 🍷

Some of yall people are rude and ignorant. Regular stew you don't put over rice, noodles, but this would be perfect to do! As for no red wine people... if that's not your taste, then don't tell us not to! Imo it doesn't look like regular beef stew, hince not a lot of liquid. Where did you get the spoon rest from, I have tried many with out desired results. I know smell a vision hasn’t been developed yet(AI will find a way I hope) however as a certifiable foodie I can smell what I see especially if I’ve ever tried the food being cooked. When you boil beef or chicken save the broth and put it in an ice cube tray and freeze. You can then transfer frozen cubes to plastic container and keep frozen until needed.
