You guys weekly gross and take home is different for everyone. Everyone runs there business in there own way and handle expenses how they see fit to there own business so seeing gross is enough for all of you to make an educated guesstimate on how it go for you and how it go for you. Guess it’s a 10% of gross without including insurance and guess 20% gross if it includes insurance. Fuel and other daily expenses you can figure that out on your own for yourself. Gross is all you need to know and you c an go from there. Just my 2 cents on this. Hope your doing well and keep being successful for you and evryone else doing this or any journey in self employment and trying to be there own boss. Nothing but best wishes and luck to anyone who gets into this. 🙌🙌🙌

Joe Guerrero not for me. I’ve done plenty of OD/OW. Yes they pay great...but, I’m not a huge fan of waiting on appointments at both ends, waiting on permits, paying and hanging out with pilot car services the entire trip, driving on within the 30 minutes before to 30 minutes after daylight window, buying $1,500+ worth of lighting, being told when and where I can drive, detaching just to fuel, being able to park almost nowhere and the list goes on. Plus I’m not dropping the money on a triden truck, a RGN, flip axles...jeeps. You act like it’s just a gold mine. There’s more to it. Might be for you, not for me though.

I’m glad to know that in these hard times, there is still definitely ways to make money. You’re the example. I guess all it really takes is some dedication and being open minded and it will definitely work. I’ve always heard truck drivers saying comments that hot shots don’t make any money, but in reality, once you factor in all costs, a hot shot seems to be the better choice. At least that’s my opinion from my own experience.

I liked this a lot and learned a few things too. I suggest a video like this after the end of each month, with your best week that month highlighted in detail, exactly as you did here. Very good job. You might consider putting up a shot of Google Maps with each run displayed on the map after you talk about the details of that run. You know in troubled times as these, spending 8 days at home (4 weekends if they were equally spaced out) while still bringing in almost a thousand a day is nothing at all to sneeze at. My hat is off to you, well done.

Hi. I am on the waiting list for enterprise rental. Do I need to have the truck and trailer before I apply for DOT and MC, as well as commercial insurance?
@LoadMizer4 жыл бұрын
DOT and MC will come first. Along with of course naming and establishing your business and filing with your state. You’ll need insurance in order to make your MC active and in order to rent the truck. There’s a 30 day period from the time your MC is active until you have to provide insurance for it. That’s the window you want to have the insurance and the truck and trailer ready to pull the trigger on. I’m going to make a series about all of this but there’s a lot I need to work out with it. I interviewed insurance today. Waiting on enterprise to say go with my vid on it and I have an appointment with my accountant to cover the first step in 2 weeks. There’s a lot to it. I just haven’t been able to lay it out yet on video.

Load Mizer ok thx, I need help with the permits, IFTA, TWIC, and other things to run in every state and not be hindered. I do have a non restriction CDL. People are trying to charge lots of money to get these things in order for me. Video and links would be awesome

Interesting, maybe I’ll look into this, I’ve got a few hotshot trucks going that I manage myself while still driving.. I said I’d stop driving at 2 million miles, 3 hundred thousand two go.. 2.5 years left i figure..

I understand everything is different for everyone but towards the end you gave a monthly number for the ~20 days or so being right around 20k. Two questions: 1. Is that before or after expenses? 2. Did you fill out a W-4 or do you just get a 1099 at the end of the calendar year? Thanks and good luck to you!
@LoadMizer3 жыл бұрын
Yes those figures were gross revenue before expenses. I filled out a W9 and got a 1099 at the end of the year.

I’ve been always thinking about being a truck driver these past 4 years thinking of getting a CDL and all and it’s not until just recently I’ve decided to do research and talk to people about it, and I feel hotshot trucking might be a thing for me in the future. One question though, was this 20,450 not including expenses like fuel maintenance etc.?
@LoadMizer4 жыл бұрын
No that was just gross. The reason I didn’t include all expenses was because everyone’s expenses will vary. Especially once you include your personal expenses. I did include expenses in the July video.
@cynicaltexan96394 жыл бұрын
That is your gross. What did you net? or did I skip ahead and miss that?
@JustMe-pu3xm3 жыл бұрын
What is your overhead? Cause if your expenses are high, that’s not a lot of money to run all them miles in a week.

@@LoadMizer So that's about $3,400 a week. A little low but that's nothing to sneeze at. but at those rates I could be debt free in a year, 15 months.

You can do pretty well in a major city. If it’s really what you want to do just start checking off all the boxes. You gotta have a plan in place, don’t just dive in. 👍

Hi everyone just need a little help here , I understand about requirements for a 3 car hauler boc-3 mc# Dot# permits ect .My question is does a single hauler meet same requirements?
@LoadMizer3 жыл бұрын
If your hauling across state lines for money you’ll need all of that. I really wouldn’t recommend trying to haul only 1 car starting out. The money just in ant there unless you’ve got a deal worked out.

I'm about to be completed with my CDL and cant decide if I want drive a semi or do hotshot. If I do I'm looking for a really great company to work with. I'm located out of Florida. I've talk to Alex btw
@LoadMizer3 жыл бұрын
I’d base that on how much you have on hand to float the business and how much freight you have lined up for steady work. A semi is going to cost a lot more to operate than a hotshot setup. Insurance is going to be heavy on both just because you’re in Florida.

I’m just confused on how you drove 7 days straight @ 541 miles daily with no reset??? Did you run logs?
@LoadMizer4 жыл бұрын
Of course I ran logs. I typically drive overnights, especially when I get long runs. You can pound out the miles running west. There’s virtually no cities and the speed limits are higher. 541 miles divided by 60mph is 63 hours for 7 days. North Dakota’s speed limit is 75 and the truck speed limit is 70 in Montana now but I didn’t weigh over 26k when I was in Montana I could run 80. The signs say GVW. Not GVWR. I had about 3 hours left on my 70 when I got to Portland. Stayed there until 7 Saturday night (remember I had already picked up my load back to Wisconsin) once midnight hit (my logs are central time zone) started gaining back heavy recap I ran the previous week and rolled on. I usually don’t take resets. That run did have me lose most of Saturday though.
