We retired to the PI in April 2019 but we've been back to visit in Dec 2019, Nov 2021, and we'll go back again this Sept 2023. Why do we go back? To visit friends. Yeah, we get to eat some of the food that we miss and maybe pick up a few items not otherwise available here, but it really is about getting to see our friends. Enjoy your stay and have a safe return trip.

Do you noticed how many people from all over the world wants to move to the us? Look how much visa applicants and green card applicants are waiting patiently many for 2,3,8 years or more to get a visa. Of course the US has changed but why so many still want to come and feel proud when they become a US citizen?

Tim I think about this a lot but then I realize my life is here in the Philippines. I have a sim and grand children there. I can not go back to work and the expense of living in the US is unreal now. I am now happy than ever in my life. We have 3 children 18, 16 and 9 and like everyone I wonder sometimes if I can support them as the need. I live on my S/S a small pension. I live for my kids to tell me how much they love me. I have been tough on the older ones but it seems they are doing great. You have a great family here unless we do not know the real truth. I pray a lot and let my God lead me and so far He has done a good job for this old man. You know you will never find a woman to love you as Chrissy does!! Good Luck God bless

We are all different in our thoughts and responses to the decisions we make in life. I'm a lot older now, but back in 1966, I wrote down a couple of thoughts I had at the time. "All that I have, yet I have nothing." and "Oftentimes I give up so much for so little." I was working non-stop at the time to try and make a comfortable life for my family. I worked 6 to 7 days a week in a salaried position. (There's a whole book here, but I'm going to get to the point) I learned over time to make a decision and never look back! I only touch something once! That is the practice that has served me the best. I've gone from being the student to being the teacher to now being a mentor. At the time, I didn't realize the changes in life's learning processes, but now I do. You, too, will find the path most comfortable for you and your family. Don't let detractors lead you a stray from your chosen path. Best of luck in your travels. I enjoy your work. Stay safe!

It's a shame that people are so quil to judge. Before they fly off the handle and make mis-guided comments, they should get their own lives in order and be true to that. I see Tim as a responsible young man who is seasoned and will make responsible decisions along with Crissy. All you misinformed or haters ( trolls) keep your insecurities to yourselves. Are your lives perfect? I think not. Best of luck to you and Chrissy.

I too became homesick after a few years living abroad, but the moment I came home I immediately remembered why I left in the first place so I left again after a year and I haven't returned for 7 years now. Life is more agreeable in some parts of the world, Southeast Asia, some parts of Latin America, Eastern Europe and even in some countries in Africa. And I don't just mean financially because these are cheaper places where you money goes much further, but the people are nicer, friendlier, seem genuinely happier, traditions and family ties are still strong. Also, there is a real sense of community and helping one another, it's not everyone for themselves like in the Western world. People aren't obsessed with politics, ideology or pushing whatever agenda they defend upon everyone else. Life is just simpler.

I haven't heard anything about WHY you're leaving you wife, kid, Philippines for USA. I did hear you mention you think one should have a minimum income of $3k per month. This tells me you're probably not ready for the Philippines in the first place. Lower your standards. I came here to Cebu with a little over $100k in the bank and a social security income of only $1600 per month. But our very humble home is paid for. And we have a small piggery that is profitable for added income. I lowered my standards tremendously. I bought a brand new little shitbox Mitsubishi Mirage because we don't need a $30k (or more) suv. We are making some improvements on the home, but keeping it simple and humble. If for some weird reason I had to leave this home and my gal I could take my car, dog, savings and social security income closer or into Cebu City and live comfortably. I don't need restaurants every day, or even 3 times a month. I don't go out to drink. I'm enjoying my coffee o and the porch, gazing at the coconut, papaya and Mango trees. Living quite comfortable. That's all I ever wanted.

At some point as a man you need to grow up. If you're going to have family and children you need to be responsible. At that point you have to stop with the bachelor's mindset. So you got divorced in the west had a kid.. When thing's got to tough.. You escaped to the Philippines.. Started the same process all over and now that you're "bored" or things are becoming difficult you want to run from your problems? You can't run from them, they will follow you wherever you go. Now you're going to leave a wife and kid behind.. You say it in a joking manner but now you're lamenting about missed opportunity back in the States.. It's like you don't know what you want or you eschew responsibility.. Look im going to give advice to anyone reading this if you decide you want to rebuild a new life in a new country. Ask yourself these important questions. Do you have strong family times at home? Do you have children you are responsible for? Do you need an income? Are you going to miss work or having a career? A lot of guy's don't seem to understand that you still need to have a purpose when you leave home. What are you going to accomplish living abroad? Will you be able to work? Volunteer? Start a business? If you can't do these things, how will you occupy your time? Do you have engrossing hobies and interests that are independent of Relationships and are not Geo-dependant. How likely are you able to acclimate and participate in a community and society that is alien from what you are use to? Your purpose cant just be. It's cheap living and the girls are beautiful.. This is the mindest of a college frat boy. Be honest with who you are.

It’s cheaper and safer to live in the Philippines ( my country) than any other in Asia. We have a climate that’s all year you can plant crops, grains and veges, and you can have cheap fish which is costly in western countries. I wouldn’t trade my country for any other - it’s heaven for me. You can live the kind of life you wish for - it’s all up to you how to achieve that.

Good luck in the US. You won't recognize it after 4 years. That's why I moved here last year Sept '22. Inflation, crime, corruption, depraved ideologies being forced on citizens. That's why I left. I miss my family and friends and that's it about.

Safe travels Tim... Finally have WiFi to continue following your channel. My experience is that home is never the same as it was before leaving. Some things will look better and some things will not look as good as once perceived. Take care & Thank you

Yes you need to stay in the US until your kids were raised and over 18. It is time to live your life after is handled your parental obligations and give them all the love and support they need. My child needs their father in their life when they are growing up. 💯

Doing what's best for you and your family is what matters. Everything in life is temporary. You are never stuck in any situation unless you want to be stuck. I wish you Chrissy & Dale the very best.

Your wife will find an attorney for child support. Family court will order you to pay $600 per month which will give her a great living in the Phillipines.

You said we would need $3000 US to live in Philippines . Maybe you just couldn't give up the comforts you were use to . But you got Chrissy pregnant . You chose to take a young woman that came from a simple life, and give her your lifestyle . Now you are running away from your wife n child . Leaving them . I hope you are at least going to give her child support $ they deserve . I know in NY . That would be 17% of your weekly income .
