This performance had an outstanding effect on me when I was younger. I stayed home sick from school one day and saw this episode on TV. Growing up in a strict, religious household, our musical options were limited. This piece was one of my first introductions to jazz music, and I've been in love ever since. It's amazing to have finally found it again after all those years.

i have a brother n law who heard me playing 1 of my compositions which has a key change in it. he pointed that out implying that there's no such thing in music. i would have loved to hear these guys talk about how many key changes there r in this particular song which is my fav tony bennett song.

The chord over the words "Climb Half-way to the Stars" is not really D Minor (in this alto-voice transposition). However, since the chord is question it is a floating chord - on the way to A Minor "any" consonant chord really would do! (In Baroque music floaters are quite common, usually denoted by a big DASH in the figured bass). If you use plain D, for example an F# fast upbeat can be exploited in the bottom part to give you a nice circle of fifths into "The Morning Fog" (F#) - B7 then E7 - Am Generally speaking I found the left hand part in this version unnecessarily kerfuffling. It's good to show off one's knowledge with loads of inflexion chords if you want to - but, truthfully you need only the basic chords to give a good effect.
