@BoskiM4 жыл бұрын
I bet you this tilapia will taste much better (and be good for you) than the Chinese variants that are full of chemicals
@davidadade5294 жыл бұрын
If you are looking at fish production. Please stick with the recomended guide lines on fish stocking levels. Ive had many failures as well as sucesses. With the littile i do know, still learning all the time i now have a little more experience. I think the major thing i have learned is to identify when the fish are not happy a few days before problems arise. This takes time. Tilapia require clean water. If the water is dirty they stop eating if they are stressed they stop eating. A few dead fish could pollute the water and cause you to lose the stock. How we achieved the high densitey stocking levels as follows: When the sun is out the fish go down to the bottom. We decided to shield the tanks from the sun.The fish now used the whole 2m depth of water.From the outside to the inside there is about a 3 foot drop. The fish waste eventually make it to the center of the tank. The roof of the tank redirects water into the tank. Every bit of clean rain water helps We recycle the water and pass it though a drum filter, this filtering is continuous. Tilapia produce hundreds of eggs. You could start off with 5,000 fish and end up with 10,000 in no time at all. The filtering not only takes the fish waste out the water but allso removes the the fish eggs (fry). In addition, we also replaced 20,000 litres of water every 10 days or so again this action removes the fry out the water. We had aerators attached to a primary and backup power solar supplys. If the fish are not eating they are not growing. I think I read somewhere that fish excrete a chemical when overcrowded, this would make sense as a natural protection. Time to harvest was about 10 months we achived the regular size, size 1 and size 2. The two major issues we had were power especially for the aerators during the rainy season. It doesn’t matter how may solar panels you have to charge your batteries, if there is no sun the batteries just would not charge. The second issue was the filters in the tank, we used a dome basket about 1.5 meters diameter covered in mesh, the mesh being big enough to allow the fry through to be sucked out. Cleaning this was always challenge. The tank is more of a controlled environment but it’s very unforgiving if you make a mistake or a piece of equipment fails I think the key question here is would I stock the 5000 again. I think yes would be the answer.

This is amazing,I've always wanted to get into aquaponics. One suggestion for fish food is maybe use the old fish tanks to start a black soldier fly farm to feed the fish and provide it as animal feed to people who raise livestock. Great job!!! When a man has a plan and a vision, success is the result.

Pellets from oil press( of soybeans, groundnuts, sesame seeds, olive etc) can also be a good source of fish feed. Fish farmers should look into that and place it close to where they farm fish. Just a thought.

It's weird, God has some of us Techies wanting to come to the Mother Land and farm 😳. I want to have the same type of setup, where the food is supplying the school children. In addition, teach technology as well. My background is programming and electronics with a Masters Degree in Information System Management and a Bachelors of Science in Electronics and Communication Engineering Technology. I can even teach the children how to program microcontrollers in Assembly, C++, or C programming language. God Almighty has us on Code.

You can immediately see how he is applying his IT expertise to fish farming. As another business please see how you can apply these IT solutions as services / products to other fish farms. See your fish farm as an R&D center.

Good morning Wode Maye, I started following your channel from the video where you purchased a car for your mom. And mostly your travels with miss Trudy. Recently a man or woman who goes by the name Retired african kept writing about you. Firstly I was surprised when he told me to check you out ( although I watch you already). You are making such a big impact its amazing. Its amazing how I wanted so badly to leave ghana and today I dream of the moment when I will be able to visit and show my new family what I call HOME. Have a beautiful day ahead a and thank you.

I wanted to know who he sells to? I'm sure most people in Ghana do subsistent fishing, fish for themselves and family. Does he exports or maybe sells to restaurants etc.? I'm glad he came up with the idea instead of a Chinese. I'm sure he will be successful. The oceans have been overfished and this is another way of producing seafood.

Its funny for most peope who migrate to western world make their Sterling and Dollars then they move back to wherever they from with loads of £$ and the way they talk down on country where they make their money. I was born and raised in Africa, I was lucky to migrate to the UK made little money so now I can start something small back in Africa, however I thank UK for giving me the opportunity and rights to work and call it home. Thank you Great Britain. I love you Africa.
