The best part of all of this is in the last round, Impulse didn’t even have to lie! He could have just said “I’m the demon, Cub is my minion, we’re gonna tie the vote and win.” That’s how clean the game was!

True, but also wouldn't have mattered. Cub's ghost vote meant even if Iskall hadn't voted, it would have been 2-to-2. So unless Xisuma nominated Iskall, which he had no reason or indication of doing, the votes would be tied, no executions would happen, and Impulse would win by killing at night. So by that point in the game, Impulse had the win on lock.

So, I have been playing Blood on the Clocktower for a few years, and have storytold quite a few games now. I found Cleo's decision to change Virgin to Sacrifice interesting. She's not wrong, and it works just fine, but it is an interesting decision. I look forward to seeing what else is in store, as I still have over an hour in this amazing episode.

I must say I was very, very impressed by Impulse’s acting, hot damn. He played it all so dirty, sneaky and underhanded. He did become a demon. From 1:36:30 you see and hear it all best. He gets ready to betray Xisuma, pulling his last move for all the marbles, then he hears Cub still has his vote. The excitement strikes him when he asks “Cub’s stills gotta vote?”. He knows he’s won it. Instead of slacking off though with his speech, he absolutely throws everything onto Xisuma, even convincing Iskall with all of it eventually. But it’s not the solid accusation that makes it vile, it’s the way he all says it. So sleek, smooth, and powerful. Laughing like the Joker at everything Xisuma tries to defend himself with (you can hear that best at 1:38:27), gliding along his sentences in a know-it-all manner, and also not stuttering once… For a second I believed Impulse was actually the mayor, but just one with very bad intentions and corrupt to the slightest sliver…

That's a fun social game. As soon as Ren voted for you then you had the win. You needed 2 votes to tie and Cub was your minion so with him and you it was guaranteed. So really it didn't matter how Iskall voted. I know it's hard to get the Hermits together, but man I hope you guys play this a few more times.

​​@@Jisto11 it was safer for him to continue his suspicion of xisuma rather then suddenly switch gears to iskall and reveal himself early. he might have been guaranteed to win at that point, but its always better to hold on to all your cards just in case the unexpected happens. a key element in being able to lie well, is being able to convince yourself first. impulse probably never even thought of switching to iskall because he had already dedicated himself fully to the role of mayor. iskall's suspicion of x from early on, his aggressiveness in accuations and solid defenses, plus his inability to be killed by impulse, meant that he was far more useful to impulse alive than dead. meanwhile xisuma simply had too many holes in his story to be anything more than an easy target. impulse almost certainly realized this early on, and once he begun playing mayor in earnest, all of his decisions were made from that perspective. he played more like a mayor would, not like an imp-and thats what got him the win in the end. this is also why he killed ren as the game was finishing up and not xisuma, as ren would be much harder to accuse or convince and didnt provide any benefit to being alive. unfortunately something about this action made ren realize the game was now massively in favor of impulse, but at that point it was far to late to stop him. i think the moment it started to click for ren is after it came out that xisuma was the saint and impulse immediately presented the reminder that the demon can lie about their role. the fact that he died immediately after that was probably what cemented his suspicion. impulse might have also realized he slipped up, which wouldve contributed to his decision to kill ren. if ghosts werent able to talk in this, im confident impulse wouldve won with zero accusations

This episode did NOT feel like 1h 43 min long. I was smiling from ear to ear the entire time, and one thought kept turning around in my head: This here is the text book example of what makes Hermitcraft the most prestigious and legendary SMP in all of Minecraft. The viewers get sucked in and click on the videos because of the epic builds and contraptions, but it's the vibes between the Hermits, the wholesome laughs and family harmony between these awesome people, that makes us hooked to stick around for season after season. Please never change!

I was literally jumping up and down, on the edge of my seat for the whole game of clock tower. the story impulse wove was *fabulous* - I don't know how anyone doubted him, it was so airtight. One interesting thing is that if Impulse hadn't figured out that Iskall was the soldier and nobody was voted the final round, so that Impulse only had to get the final kill, the townsfolk could've won had he picked Iskall. But the cards played out so perfectly with Cub still having a vote to execute X that Iskall didn't realize, so that there was no tie. Also, Impulse could've nominated Iskall instead, to keep his promise to X, and just outed himself and cub as evil by telling cub to vote with him to tie it up and won by killing X that night. Either way, the whole thing was just *chef's kiss*. Reminds me of a game called Werewolf, where everyone gets a role and the werewolf kills every night, but this version is so much better with splitting up the interactions between a bigger group so that it's not complete chaos during meetings. Also better than among us in that there is no time limit as long as people still have things to say. Great video, 11/10, am going to force my whole family to watch this with me tonight

The only flaw with Impulse's story is that everybody forgot they executed Cub and thought he was evil. They didn't know this for certain, but they were pretty sure they got one evil person: then when the game didn't end, they were a little confused, forgetting that there can also be Minions. Cub never accused anyone and never voted for anyone unless Impulse voted too. If they had picked up that Cub was mirroring Impulse's movements, as opposed to mirroring X's movements, I think they'd have got Impulse, but they missed that scrap of information (tbf, it took me watching Cleo's then Impulse's vid, aka the entire thing twice to pick up on it) Absolutely amazing gameplay, Iskall was the absolute MVP of Town but Impulse was just a tiny bit better. Also yes I love for the alternate world when Impulse's speech is "Actually, I'm evil. And Cub is evil. I nominate Iskall. Myself and Cub will vote for him. Either X votes, in which case Iskall is executed and I win, or X does not vote and it ties, and I win. Checkmate!" xD

Cleos game reminds me of a game my family and i play whenever there is a part, its called Mafia, basically the same thing, a little simpler, there are villagers a doctor, a detective and mafia. self explanatory roles, we all close our eyes and its night, the mafia wake up and decide who they want to kill, the detective who they think could be mafia and the doctor chooses who to save. When the morning comes and we all open our eyes we find out if/who died and then we all vote for who we think is the mafia and they have to defend themselves and say they arent. game ends if we kill all the mafia or they kill us haha

Clocktower was a LOT more interesting than I thought it was going to be. This is why longer seasons are so much better. Gives you guys a chance to flex the big brain projects, and the resources are much easier to acquire.
