I think i understand what they mean by thinning the deck, not explicitly THINNING the deck, but with it being tradeable you can keep kicking them into your deck for more favourable cards

It's a nearly pointless thing to prove, but yeah with infinite mana you could always trade away the card anytime you drew it, until it was at the bottom of your deck and effectivley has thinned your deck by one. As he said though, its entirely pointless semantics

i think chat is right on one point. if you have infinite mana, every time you draw a tradable card, you can trade it meaning that you never actually draw it, only what ever card you trade it for. that means in practicality, it doesn't count as in your deck (except for fatigue and deck removal purposes). still a pointless distinction, but technically correct.

They are. Yes, technically speaking, it doesn't thin the deck because it doesn't reduce the size. However, if trading had no mana penality, it does effectively thin the deck because you can trade all cards until you get the ones you want, as if the tradable cards don't exist. Roffle gets in moods where he has to be technically correct and it's really annoying.

I believe it is consensus that she is considered almost too strong still. This thesis is supported by the fact she is run in nearly all paladins that aren't just pure aggro. If they did revert the mana cost they'd have to nerf the 1/2 dmg shield and/or the handbuff hero power.

I think she can be unnerfed. I never saw her as problematic, even when handbuff was good. Paladin has always been one of the slower classes that's easier to disrupt or just straight up run over.

etc is fun and can let you do some wacky things, like having odd cards in even, duplicates in reno, or that one demon hunter shard video you did (I really liked that one) but using it for tech just causes the same problems all tech cards already have, they're bad... And cost an additional 4 mana with etc, whether it's one or 3 card slots you're still paying the price of tech.

I think people don't understand that using ETC just for tech cards is just as bad (if not worse) than putting the tech cards in your deck. The cost of putting them in needs to be worth the reduced win rate in every other matchup. Consider the fact you won't always draw ETC/tech cards in every matchup you need them, and also how some tech cards don't actually help you win as much as you like ex. Secret Eater vs Objection. ALSO ALSO you are making a 4/4 for 4 to discover a tech card instead of drawing the tech card which is always worse than just drawing the tech card you need just so you can try and "counter" more decks, so the increased "win rate" is even worse because you are delaying the card and opening yourself to being screwed by objection/(naga guy that counters). I believe ETC is better used supplementing a deck with cards it can't normally run like even decks or Reno decks, it could also be used to add cards that are situationally more diverse like having cards vs aggro/control/combo (Yes they are tech cards, but less restrictive and arguably more helpful). Roffle later points out why it happens, but its due to copies of cards. In wild, there’s bronze explorer from the original expansion, and bronze explorer from core set. They count as separate cards, oddly enough, so they can generate each other.
