The very best internal martial arts video I've ever seen. These guys actually fight...

I've never seen this man before, but the video indicates an exceptionally high level of skill. I am glad that nowadays we're seeming more and more martial artists who openly demonstrate the importance of body structure/integrity.

The Great Master Wang posted an ad for his Beijing school of Da Cheng Chuan or I Chuan. Every Thursday was open challenge day, and anyone who wanted could come in and "try hands". Master Wang supposedly never lost.

@flancka - he's nearly 60 now. when he was young he knocked out plenty of fighters from all kinds of backgrounds, including Thai boxers.

This is good stuff. The music choice is a tad unfortunate, but the martial art skill here is undeniable. I think anyone with a trained eye can see that there is something real going on here.

I'm doing a health qigong which someone took from Sifu Sam's qigong for martial art.I wish I could learn the martial portion of it.

you're slightly mistaken. my Sifu WAS a champion kick boxer in Malaysia, but he trained ONLY this art under his father.

@TheDrCritic Please check out Daria Sergeeva's videos. She is a Russian I Liq Chuan instructor, standing about 5'6" tall, weighs no more than 120-130. The massive weight could have helped some people but it is clearly not what it takes to maintain the balanced center gravity. It's about knowing your own limits and absorbing energy down to the feet. You could also see a demo of Daria in her highlights video being pushed by multiple bystanders and still not move an inch.

Cool demo. It looks like a combination of Tai Chi Chuan and Wing Chun.

lol hakka you are so right man. after less than 6 months of training ILC I played with all types of martial artist.lots of wingchun artist who thought that their chi sao was da bomb.with the little training I had in ILC I was able to penetrate their defenses strike them throw them around lock them surprisingly well. I do admit i have other martial background but it was ILC that developed the ability and awareness of center to actually use what those tools..so wingchunexpert doesn't know squat!

haha i do mma and i agree with what you're saying. i would love to study this beautiful art of combat and master chi control. i would much rather do iliqchuan than mma to be honest because im into all the chi stuff and mental development.
@Soaring_Hawk2 жыл бұрын
It's not "mMa" if you don't actually do Martial arts outside of the sporting venue. It's also not mma if you only study for a year and think you're a hardass.

wingchunexpert: you are NOT right. i don't think you watched the clip all the way through since at 1:59 they demo some light contact striking / free style sticky hands applying ti, da, na and shaui. I Liq Chuan is very much a martial art.

@DrunknShaolinBoxer I disagree here, sir. As a one time student of Reng Guan Yi (Chen Taiji), he expressed the view that if your abilities are not effective in a short time then you are either being taught wrong or practicing wrong. There is no secret that needs to be unveiled over years, it is just understanding the physics of it all...and "getting it"...which i guess could take years. But it shouldn't. No "ancient Chinese secret". Just a good teacher, supple brain and practice. XieXie

MGKgenie, what do you mean "the Muay Thai guys had up to that point demolish all Kungfu entrants"? Search online and see the most recent fight in China dated December 19, 2009. Five professional Muay Thai champion fighters went to China to challenge the Kung Fu Sanda fighters were wiped out. Score 4-1, one got knocked out , had to be carried off the stage on a strecher. Those Muay Thai boxers practise 24 hrs a day, a full time job and lost. They aren't so tough after all against the Chinese

you think that sam hasnt trained in all manner of skills to better understand his science? you will be mistaken. youll try to get in close and your lack of knowledge of leverage on certain planes as well as body mechanics and bridges will render you on your knees with a cup of tea! Hmmmm, Lack of body mechanics? If that is the case then why is our US military trained in Brazillian Jiu-jitsu . Personally, The best form for real life situational fighting is Muay thai and vrazzillian jiu-jitsu.

Chuck Norris was never a 'kick-boxer'. I was at a seminar with Bill Wallace, who is a friend of his, and someone asked about Norris's kickboxing career. wallace stopped them and said CN had never been a KBer, he was a points fighter.

mdub2000, my advice- you need to spar with a better Wing Chun practitioner, one who has at least one month of Wing Chun training. hahahaha...Cheers, mate.

But this is not martial art. At best this is just a supplemental training for your horse or rooting. It is basically push, shove and pull and see who can hold his ground. In actual fighting your opponent executes all sorts of technique including but not limited to kicks, punches, sweeps, pokes, chops, palm strikes, jujisu and ground fighting. This Ilichuan practices just one aspect of fighting out of the hundreds of possible ways your opponent can hurt or kill you. Aren't I right?

this may seem practical but it is not proper training for actual street.. i want to see actual boxer or fighter going again this and see if this works.. or JKD… its good for health .. and conditioning but that is it..
@slavko32110 жыл бұрын
It's actually quite hard to convey the point of the art on video, it just seems as people are acting in flying away from the master:) But the point is in balance, keeping your balance and finding and exploiting the opponent's weakness to throw him off balance. This is so fundamental in a confrontation that you don't even need to fight all that much after he is down. But you have a good point and I'm not far enough in my training to give you a good answer on what happens when you face a good "punching" opponent. You probably have to know how to take a punch too, I guess:) Then again actual streets fights are just a mess and I can see this working well in such circumstances.
@ohcomeon77710 жыл бұрын
not to call out anyone but have you been in a street fight? most if not all martial arts schools do not train for street.. too much liability .. trust me people want to hurt or break you .. or make you bleed.. what do you do when someone is literally stabbing at you? or resisting? do you know how much pressure to apply? what if the person is stronger or has better cardio? or there is more than one? or you actually get knocked out or dazed from a punch? these are actual combat training.. what is it like to fight when your life depends on it? ideally we train ideally the person or training partner complies with us to do the move…..
@ohcomeon77710 жыл бұрын
the only way to prove if anyone of us is correct is to actually fight other styles or people to find out. like bruce lee did.. we both could be correct or one or the other wrong or both wrong.. the point is its not the art it is the person.
@tonye86310 жыл бұрын
This is more an art form than for practical use. Go for Krav Maga if you want practical useful street techniques. I noticed the person "attacking" the Chinese instructor in this video was helping him to make it look more powerful than it is. There is no way a trained martial artist would bounce around that much from such subtle techniques by the fat guy. I have studied many martial arts intensively for 25 years, including Chinese Kung Fu, and I appreciate all forms. But some, like Taewkondo, Karate and this, is not optimal for any real life situation.
@tonye86310 жыл бұрын
***** Which martial arts did you study? If you studied for a few years you can easily spot the difference between a fake performance constructed to look cool, like in the above clip, and a real martial arts fight or class. I did study Chinese Martial Arts, in China where I have been living for 7 years, I fought in and watched numerous fights with high level Chinese fighters. There's nothing magic about Chinese Martial Arts, it is just another flavor.

This guy does not need to know anything. Big as he is like Po in the Kung Fu Panda. He just needs to sit on your face and you will be crushed to death. LOL, What I am trying to say - Wight plays an important role in actual sparring or fighting. My...I need to wrestle with a gorrila everyday and win before I challenge this King Kong. LOL
