He experimented with a messy grunge album, produced a whole boring space themed album like satellite flight & made a whole soundtrack album to his own tv series so that artists that he’s inspired like Travis Scott, logic, asap rocky, lil yachty, xxxtentacion and many more would thrive till this day. Lets not forget Drake was inspired by 8O8s which is cudi and ye all over that album.

Love your takes man, I agree mostly with your tier list although I was never a huge fan of It Was Written, it would go one or two places down on my list, and Hip Hop is Dead would be A, time and place thing for me I just have a soft spot for it. A few more minor disagreements but mostly our takes are similar. How amazing is it though that Nas is bringing out S-tier albums at this stage of his career!? Incredible. Glad you did Nas. You can’t do any Hov stuff without doing one of Nas’. Nas obviously has very consistent discography. I do agree Nas does have duds but the highs are so high it’s easy to forget some of the misses and he has a lot of highs. To me the best rapper of all time. Him or Pac. Definitely a Top 5 rap discography. I think you should do Lupe Fiasco he is criminally underrated or Eminem though he mostly has misses than hits.

So “lost tapes” was supposed to all be a part of the original “I AM” Double Disc album, the og tracklist features songs from i am, nastradamus & the lost tapes, plus other unreleased tracks, it got leaked by napster and then the project was scrapped and we got some of it on these followup albums

If I've understood correctly the lost tapes was basically kind of what Nastradamus was supposed to be but since a lot of those songs got leaked he took them out of the album and replaced them with hastily made new songs. Then he ended up putting those songs he took out, into lost tapes.
