I actually was a 1950's housewife, and young mother. I did all of these things. 😁

I love how you are recreating such a nostalgic time!! Makes me feel good to know I’m not the only one fascinated by the 50s!💕

This brings tears to my eyes. I remember my mother putting my father's dress white uniforms into the bathtub with bleach and then going on to doing touch work with white shoe polish. The the sailors and their girlfriends came on Saturday to cookout and dance. The 1950s seem so far away and times were simple then. Thank you and have a great day.

So glad you have your grandmother's recipe book. I have my mom's and I'm 62yrs. I will be handing it down one day with a couple of my own.I have already taught my kids what a pinch or eyeball it is.

Im fascinated by the bygone times too and try to live in some way a traditional life as a wife/mother. I know my husband deeply appreciates the home cooked food and knowing he can concentrate on the heavy/physical jobs around the farm and not have to worry about the house at all. We both have our responsibilities and it really really works for us x

Wow, home cooked food on fancy dishes. I wonder how many people would be inspired after a meal like that.👍

These are fun to watch--but remember, this focuses only on an urban/suburban housewife. In the fifties--I was born in 1955--at least here in America there were still many millions living rurally and I expect there were in the UK also.
