BGC is no doubt on oasis of calm in Metro Manila and also a great place to live and work as an expat. It can certainly give other Asian cities a run for their money. Modern places like BGC in other parts of the Philippines will bode well for ongoing foreign investment.

No blackouts because cables are underground in BGC. And outside the business districts, they’re up high on the electric posts, very vulnerable to typhoons. So electricity, as well as internet are more intermittent on other areas.

BGC is 100 percent private district in the city of Taguig. McKinley Hill area is another district next next to BGC. I’ve stayed there many times but after a while it gets old. I stay there just a jumping point to go to other islands and neighboring countries. Its a good place as a home base. Ive seen that place grow since the 80s when it was a military base until the 90s when it was privatized.

That's the problem a lot of the expats are confined with BGC well in fact that there are other options. Example Ortigas, Eastwood, Greenhills, Quezon City are other options that can be considered. These are all accessible through the MRT others even opt for the provinces like Dumaguete which is equally beautiful ❤️

I spend double that in a month sometimes more when Im there. Island hopping and nature is what I prefer. I live in California in the bay area and frequently visit my daughter in Orange County in SoCal and my sisters in Las Vegas. Its almost like home when Im in BGC but what I want to see are sand and surf, the island life, mountains and lakes, and local cultures with their 🎉language. This is my preference and my opinion yours might be different. My goal there is to visit at least half the provinces of the country and perhaps more. BGC or Cebu will be a nice home base close to the International Airport and Inter-island ferry.

BGC is NOT a City - it is a District of Taguig City Taguig City in the Philippines is divided into several districts, each with its own distinct characteristics and features. The districts of Taguig City include: Bonifacio Global City (BGC): BGC is a highly urbanized district known for its modern architecture, upscale residential condominiums, and vibrant business and commercial centers. It is home to high-rise buildings, multinational corporations, shopping malls, entertainment establishments, and a variety of dining options. McKinley Hill: McKinley Hill is a mixed-use development located within Taguig City. It features a combination of residential, commercial, and retail spaces. The district is known for its European-inspired architecture, international schools, and the Venice Grand Canal Mall, which features gondola rides and Italian-themed structures. Fort Bonifacio: Fort Bonifacio, also referred to as "The Fort," is a former military base that has transformed into a thriving business and residential district. It encompasses the BGC and McKinley Hill areas and is characterized by wide boulevards, green spaces, and high-end residential towers. Lower Bicutan: Located in the southern part of Taguig City, Lower Bicutan is a residential district that offers affordable housing options. It is home to several residential subdivisions and communities. Signal Village: Signal Village is a bustling district in Taguig City known for its mix of residential and commercial areas. It is a densely populated neighborhood with various shops, markets, and local establishments. Ususan: Ususan is another residential district in Taguig City, with a mix of low-rise housing and mid-rise condominiums. It is home to various local businesses and establishments. These districts contribute to the diverse landscape and development within Taguig City, offering residents and visitors a range of living, working, and recreational options.

Lols this is really a very weird and a bit silly comment... What's the definition or even the idea of a "real" Philippines? You can't put one definition and idea for a country... Everything that you will see in a country, the good the bad, the great and the not so great things... Those are what define a country... To say that BGC is not a part of that is just silly... For me, BGC is the best representative of what Philippines is capable of when it focuses on progress and innovation... BGC is what will happen when we are not stuck with all those outdated and toxic Filipino mindset that hinders is for a long time.
