Savvy, at 5:12 your screen title indicates annual contributions...ANNUAL.. monthly. Just to clarify, I searched online & 17,000 is ANNUAL i.e. yearly, NOT monthly. I'll paste below... PhilHealth contributions for expatriates have been updated to require a 3% monthly income contribution for Filipinos working and living abroad. This policy was implemented after a new circular was issued by the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth). For foreign nationals, the eligibility criteria and contribution rates are as follows: Foreign nationals can enroll as Individual Paying Members if they are not employed. They can also be registered under the Employed Sector Program if they are employed. Foreign nationals who are PRA (Philippine Retirement Authority) foreign retirees pay an annual premium contribution of $15,000.00. Other foreign citizens pay an annual premium contribution of $17,000.00. These contributions can be paid quarterly, semi-annually, or annually.

First of all you never mention Bacolod as the city of smiles and culinary delights??? As for Lakawon Island; although it's a beautiful trip, the original inhabitants of the Island were still living there in shacks while there are far nicer accommodation for visitors, also the other side of the Island is polluted from the locals dumping batteries for decades, I hope they cleaned it up by now. Also You never mentioned Sipalay or Dauin for Beach homes, or the improvement of the roads and highways. Dauins resorts were American priced back in 2014 including the food in them and the staff at Atlantis had the same American attitudes. But Sipalay is a wonderful place; Back in 2014 it took us (wife & 2 young sons 9 &11) 8 &1/2 hours there and 10 hrs. back to Bacolod, in 2017 It took us 5 &1/2 hrs. there w/ all the city cut arounds, I would never return to Dauin.

Overpriced dump. No wonder condos remain empty in Manila and tanking. Real estate investors and developers are getting too greedy. Make the price lower to march regular Filipimo salaries. You're basically pricing these condos for foreign investors and income 😂

I’ve been living in the Philippines for the past 8 years and if you want to live here with the western lifestyle which I do then $3,000 a month will do. $3,000 includes house, foods, bills, etc…. I don’t know how people can live off $1,000 or less here in the Philippines. Realistic lifestyle and being comfortable is what I call living life to the fullest.

Except the situation with Healthcare and Prices for Apartments in Manila its Complete nonsense, I've been in Manila and there was no issues with smog such as in Los Angeles California or New York City The problem is that as Foreigners cannot buy any insurance policy for medical assistance in the Philippines even in Manila or Ceby City or Tacloban City people been looking at me as on Alien 👽 when ibwas asking for Mediacl Insurance Policy - they'll thinking as I'm asking for Life Policy and they're pointed me a Local Banks 😂

1) what happens to your condo investment if an earthquake ruins it? 2) Not all Ayala is "elite" Avida for instance is horrible condos in BGC
@craigfine42613 күн бұрын
You must live in the southern part of the Philippines 🇵🇭 then. Here in Manila it’s not like that. Also you must have had a bad experience in Avida. I’ve had nothing but excellent experiences with them. It would seem that you just want to spoil someone else’s experiences because you’re not happy. Very negative of you. I don’t keep negative people around me. Cheer up though. Someday you might not kick rocks 🪨 all the time.🎉

I have a good friend who married a Philippines girl and said when he retires, he's going to live in the Philippines. And leave America for good not just because he married one but because he has gone there many times before meeting his wife. And he loves the country and its people. African American are very welcomed there.

i've seen roaches on the counter next to pizza slices in LANDERS in BGC Uptown yo. I told the 2 cashiers who ignored me lol There's also a surprising amount of trash on the sidewalk where the BPO workers (customer service phone reps to western countries) take breaks. Roaches in 7-11s and other places in BGC aren't even blinked at. Rich kids in suped-up cars like to race around my condo in Uptown all hours of the night (eeeeeearpluuuugs). I lived in Pasay really poor area 3 months before moving to BGC. I walked around late at night and never had a problem. Lotsa' homeless with their dogs and cats living on the streets and beggars holding the doors of 7-11 stores in Pasay. BGC is one of the few places the internet says is always safe for foreigners, so I moved here. It does feel like a bubble. The sidewalks and streets are wide, and there is much less pollution, but I still breath in a good mouthful of exhaust a few times an hour if I'm walking around in BGC. Food is great and much cheaper than Los Angeles where I am from. Rent is much cheaper (500% for big one bedroom). Tips aren't expected, and they are happy with a $1.50 tip at most places. Um, service is a bit goofy with the serving the all the dishes at once so that some get cold. Wrong orders. apparent logic issues with the "just following rules" thing: "do you have a reservation, sir?" "Um, no, it's just me, I;ll be done in 30 minutes." "Wait a moment, sir, I have to check." Then they walk around checking various books and apparently forgetting about you as they chat with others while 45 of their 50 tables sit empty at 4pm. lol English is hard here too. Wow, department stores and convenience stores' cashiers often seem to go slow on purpose 'cuz they apparently resent you or their job : / It takes about 10 minutes per person to pay at a 7-11. They use their phone and cash a few different ways even for the same purchase. Cinema is cheaper than USA. It does feel like "It's a Small World" at Disneyland until a skinny 7-year-old kid sneaks past guards to beg for money and won't leave your table until a guard chases them away or you give them coins for some flowers they picked. sad stuff. I buy them food. St. Lukes Hospital? It is much better than SDA Hospital in Pasay, but it's hit-and-miss regarding good doctors there. I've been to over half-a-dozen and have spent several thousand USD, and they said only Phil credit cards accepted. It varies doc-to-doc, again. One doc was a hoarder and even had a water pot boiling on the freaking ground. Their pharmacy is out of whatever a doctor there just prescribed for you, and the people there often don't speak English well enough to give you directions. The cost there was about 80% cheaper for dermatologist and half for titanium knees :O

I been living in a exclusive area in Manila metro for years, mainly because I like the services and like being pampered. Been paying a six digit monthly for years. With a high double digit retirement I worked decades for I don’t mind paying. Finally having life my way, and comfortably lounging and bedding some of the attractive women in Asia (especially Singapore) has humbled me. Being a so-called 1 percenter is great. Just stay humble and low key. Takes a while for us gents from the west to truly embrace the instant financial benefits after a previous life of being average joes. Enjoy and be natural with everything

I pay $3k for my house in Cebu but its 6 bedroom, own pool, theater room, maids quarters . Still not what i expected moving to the Philippines . Way more expensive. It convinced me to keep my home in the US and just stay in the PH a few years to have fun and then take my butt back home. O yeah, if anyone cares, the cars in the PH are also above average price. The only thing that is cheap in the Ph , at least if you are near a city, is labor. So you can have all the help and cheap sex if that’s your thing but living nice is going to cost you just as much as if you are in the US in most cities.
